Pedestrians are the only group of road users who aren't required to take any responsibility for their own safety.
Can you explain what you mean by this?

Isn't jaywalking being illegal an example of pedestrians being required to take responsibility for their own safety?

There’s clearly problems with increased incidents. Yet only drivers are smashed for using their phones while in transit

Jaywalking sanctions come in waves (I remember about 10-15 years ago it was ridiculous in Melbourne, the cops were fining everyone).

Every time theres new graduates out of Glen Waverley they send them out to fine people.

I have never understood why the night buses are thier own separate routes.
They should be the normal daytime bus routes that go into the night.
Doesn't that highlight how dumb greens are? something is not used (presumably not needed) and they say its because there's not enough services? Do greens know that buses and trams burn carbon somewhere?

Maybe more on demand services like UBER are a better answer.
They actually on the right track. Public transport is very much supply led.
Melbournes busiest bus routes all are frequent and dont spend half the time trying to cover every street in the city

but when do you realise it a dead duck and cut it completely - also even then , would the number of passengers to bus ratio be any higher? I see lots on empty Buses (and trains and trams too for that matter)

This the tram crossing at the terminus at Box Hill always got targeted. It was well known that the local sergeant was involved in training officers and this was one of the activities done

West gate bridge is ten lanes. Twelve is not extreme by any measure.

if it wasnt, they'd be criticized for not sizing it correctly

And London already has a complete orbital. Its no comparison

20 lane highways represents the insanity of trying to keep up with massive immigration rather than planning what population levels are desirable and what is the infrastructure that is required to support that.

It’s not 20 lanes average and the actual article said 24 at intersections. And freight is the key but people forget that. Trains won’t bring weetbix to your local woolies

It’s probably on a par where the se freeway meets the Tulla and the Westgate. How many lanes is that? People complain that’s not big enough

The expert in the article didn’t sound particularly expert. And no point adding aus urban rail anyway till the Melb metro is done.

This will be the first 20 lane highway in Australia.

Just because I know him, Graham Currie is a world-renowned transport expert. He organised the running of transport services and infrastructure for the London Olympics amongst other things.

Broadly, having to build more and wider freeways is a sign of transport planning failure, not just limited to the Andrews government but stretching back to the 1960s.

London has an orbital melbourne does not yet. Economical with the facts. People lauding London transport are either lying or have never been on it. Horrendous
