What a turkey - his antics were shutting down the whole coaches box. That guy kept telling him to be quiet because they couldn't think or hear. I can't believe that was going on 10 years ago, especially for a team that played a few prelims.

“Rocket, Rocket, Rocket - we cant think.”
“Sorry mate...

LOOK AT MINSON AGAIN! **** HIM!”

Outstanding spray from Rocket.

Christ, Rocket really is a genuine lunatic.

That poor guy trying to calm him down has the most thankless role.

And I love that they still call him Rocket even as he's yelling his head off. If you knew nothing about Aussie Rules and heard that recording, it would sound like a piece of absurdist theatre.

According to the main board it's Leon Cameron.

Congrats to David Mundy - 300 games a grand effort. Quiet achiever and under recognised IMO.

Also congrats to Eddie Betts - 300 games and a lot of commentary about Eddie as a person, not just a footballer. IIRC - he didn't have the easiest ride in life and to achieve what he has is a credit to him. Just hope he doesn't cut loose against us :)

So I was curious about the relationship between 300 gamers and flags. Got the following numbers on 300 gamers (300 for the one club, no splitting, sorry Daniher)

8 - Hawthorn
7 - North, Bulldogs
5 - Carlton, St Kilda
4 - Geelong, Sydney/South, Essendon, Adelaide, Brisbane (Bears/Lions/Fitzroy)
3 - Richmond
2 - Fremantle, Collingwood,
1 - Melbourne, Port

So with Carlton (5) and Essendon (4) having the most flags, followed by Collingwood (2), it looks like the trend is mostly negative. Hawthorn an outlier, due to recent success, but North, the Bulldogs and St Kilda support the negative trend. Melbourne the outlier at the other end, Port excused due to relative newness. Small sample size, but I think we can say with confidence that having a 300 gamer would be the end of the club as a flag-winning machine.

Lol Eade has come out and said that it’s not him.

Just embrace it, Rodney.
He said parts were him but that it had been condensed and other parts added by a good impersonator

Seems like he’s been a pretty good sport about it tbh

I just think it’s too incredibly obscure and unique to not be real.

Who wakes up one morning and decides to edit and mix a recording of Rodney Eade in a 2009 AFL game v St Kilda?

Maybe it was Rocket’s housemate?

Have you seen the random AFL related shit on those FB pages? This is not that obscure.

Win win tonight, not sure who to support. Either Melbourne’s finals chances take a huge hit or Richmond continue to hang around the middle of the ladder..

A Melbourne win would be good. They are already behind the 8 ball, so it would be good to knock the tigers down a peg.

This season is looking really scrappy with no real standout teams. I think most teams will go through form slumps, so the key to finishing high up the ladder will be to still get wins when playing average. bombers are a good example of this and potentially tigers as well.

The eventual premier will also hit good form at finals and then sweep through to a GF.

As a person Eddie has come a long way. Apparently he couldn't read or write and could barely speak English when he first got drafted.

And kudos to Carlton and/or Adelaide FCs for their efforts in this space. One of the hidden bodies of work undertaken by all (?) AFL clubs to varying degrees.

AFLPA and even the AFL have played a part as well. I doubt crows played a significant role as he was already a leader(to the indigenous community) from day one at Adelaide
