Since when? Low membership numbers, low profile, unsuccessful for ages, I would say they are.

ok they are, but the all the melbourne supporters I knew growing up fit right into the 'gone to the snow' private school stereotype. I know they're not all like that, but I never felt them on the saints, footscray, north level

The irony is the Dees fans I know are just normal people, one is a lawyer but a nice one though. If you see their fan base at games it looks lower socio economic. I know two Dogs fans that are millionaires and the other richest people I know follow the Hawks and Saints. The idea that Dees fans are rich establishment was Eddie and Sam on the footy show deciding that the MCC members were all Melbourne supporters.

Finally Petrecca is being shown out to be ordinary.

Not so sure, just struggling to shine in a team always under pressure. Slot him into the Cats or Hawks and he'd be a jet.

Gotta give credit where it’s due and the AFL do a bloody amazing job with Anzac Day game.

I feel his pain, nothing worse that feeling like the floor fell out of the club again. Sad that his name contains his obvious favourite player that ran off on him, sad that the general vibe of their forum reminds me of here last year and sad that they look a long way off again. I'm usually a massive campaigner and like schadenfreude more than most, I must be getting soft with age.

They will bounce back by next season. Too many good players to keep playing like this.
I'm enjoying the last few months of them being crap while I can.
