If I was Clarkson and I had even slightly been entertaining the Bombers as a coaching option there is no way I would seriously consider them after how they have treated their current coach today. They seem very divided internally. I would not be wanting to walk into that kind of instability and never really knowing who you can trust at the club, especially at board level.

Our board put an ad in the paper telling him we wanted him, we haven't entertained any other coaches, we are a club united in securing his services and he will have full support of the board and can trust them.

This stuff matters.

No chance he is going to the Bombers IMO.
I believe it was Peter De Rauch who put the ad in the paper.

Gotta be honest love fishing , but dont like the taste so throw them all back . If I must eat fish its flavoured tuna. Just out of interest last time i ate a flake GF day Hawks v Donkers within 1 hr of eating it was on the shower floor in the fetal position with food poisoning coming out all directions murmering i want to die , i want to die. I havent ever eaten flake since .

Chilli tuna or lemon and black pepper tuna?

I have to go with Chilli tuna. I think it has more diversity. I like lemon and black pepper in salads or fresh sandwiches but i can't use it in scrambled eggs or toasties. I can use Chilli tuna for all 4.

Personally, i like the 'wild tides' brand from coles. It's a bit classier and it's cheaper than john west. John west is also mush. If the price of tuna keeps rising we'll hit europe levels. I was paying $3 a tin over there...lunacy. Aldi is the best cheap alternative.
John West, just buy 28 cans when it is half price. Lemon and black pepper is super...I can't imagine Joycey smashing ALDI tuna when working on landing another big fish.

It's even simpler than that Horace. He can sign a contract with us that has a start date after the end date of his Hawthorn contract. This happens literally everyday of the week. People regularly sign contracts with a new employer while still currently engaged by their current employer.

The whole "he's still contracted by Hawthorn" thing is a bit of a red herring IMHO.
That's what I've always done but I have had contacts with anti-poaching clauses in the past which may not be legally binding these days. When I have given notice a couple of companies directly asked if I had taken a role with a partner or an opponent (stupidly, I gave an honest response of no).

If I had said yes I'd have been exited on the spot by security and paid out for my notice period. By being honest I worked it :(

It was a daily event seeing people being walked out because of them signing on with the opposition back then.

Hawthorne might have included some form of penalty clause if that's still legal to prevent signing on with another club while the season is still alive. It is virtually unheard of in the AFL for players or coaches to change clubs mid season so some kind of constraint must exist despite restraint of trade laws being in place.

Are there any contact on lawyers around here?

So let me get this straight,
If Clarkson goes to essendon, it means he has strung us along for months, talks to our out of contract players like zurhaar under the proviso of possible North coach, becomes essendon coach & Zurhaar joins essendon?
Would that not be vetoed by the AFL as tampering?

No

Used to like those but go the tuna vinegarette , very tasty. Must be careful when choosing these tuna cans as some colours are similar went to have my tuna with vinegarette one day opened it but had accidently gotten the one with corn in it , horrible.
The mrs has done that to me twice. Once with coles brand and another with john west. In fairness to her john west red and slightly darker red are very close. Too close in fact. You want things done right you need to do it yourself.
Great question. Sirena chili tuna is my normal go to, except for those days where I need a special pick me up, namely the Sirena triple chili.

Night!
I like Sirena. I buy it every now and then when i want to feel how a rich person eats for a meal.
Any type of flavoured tuna is a mugs game.
Fair. I like it in brine every now and then. I'll knife someone if they offer me tuna in springwater.

Sirena tuna the dirty bad tuna I believe the tinned canned people that still use nets and not the friendly sustainable pole fishing way. The Essendon of the tuna can world if you like lol

Boiled spring water in a can is still just boiled. Oil packed is still heated, but preserves the fish better at a lower temp.

So Dave Barham from Essendon was heavily involved in the BBL at CH10, would of been when Amarfio was at Cricket Australia…….

What did he request from his EA for breakfast is the question. Cooked on site?

Non-compete clauses have to be 'reasonable' based on all relevant factors...eg, location, availability, industry...etc.

Also no reason why he cant sign a contract that stipulates a future date of employment. Comments by some people here saying he cant sign a contract due to his current contract are baseless and reflect the opinions of lay people to contract law.
