Trust, I've followed him closely and saw him play a few games for Geelong and liked the look of him. It's just when it comes out of Sam's mouth like that, it really hits different.

I'm hoping he is that sort of player that will thrive on more responsibility. With his highlights I thought he looked very promising in and around the contest and some sharp disposal by both hand and foot. It is also going to be more about how he works in a mix with the others as well as him as an individual, and that is what is most exciting about 2023, is what Mitchell/Hale do with the collective group we have developing together. The addition of Meek, Amon and Stephens have been spoken about much less than our departures, as has the fact a whole heap of our players are going to be collectively improving at once after another pre-season together.

I think you missed his point entirely. He was referring to the draft rating of D given us by some dickwad, and Stephens makes 3.
