What can you say.

Dumb selection far to tall
Did not pick anyone play on Lukousis Crozier was a better match up than O'Brien and Gardiner
Just to inefficient win all the stats but lost.
Lobb on a wing in those conditions stupid.
Hannan a sub give me a break

Having said that the game was lost by Dale playing on with 10 seconds to go when got a from a kick in and kicking a short pass that missed the target at the end of first quarter that resulted in a goal. i was screaming hold the ball. Then O'Brien could not hit a target from 15 metres away another goal in the second.

We got a good run from the umpires.

If we can 50/50 the next two games, we are still a slim chance of top 4. But when we have Gardner, O'Brien, O'Donnell, Hannan, and McNeil all in the side, my optimism is misguided. Not one of those guys is AFL standard and it proves that our depth is more shallow that the club would admit.
On top of that, the talented forward line is being poorly managed in terms of method, structure, and planning.
Compounding the problems, there is no answer to the ongoing situations where teams can score very heavily and for prolonged periods against us.

Macrae looked back to somewhere near his best which was pleasing.

Shame Bazlenka didn't turn up to play. Zero tackles. Thought those conditions would've been in his wheelhouse.

Why the f#@k are we even playing this fixture. Probably ruins us for next week too.
yeah, going to be tough to be fit and firing for next week, needed to win tonight, how big was naughton's first miss.

Baz was absolutely putrid, and also shirked a couple (heard footsteps) going back in the last quarter. does this too often for my liking too

Also, I’m not bagging the guy as such as he didn’t do anything wrong.

But can’t we have someone decent as sub, and not Hannan?

McLean? West? Crozier?

Beveridge’s penchant for choosing players like Hannan and McComb simply drives me crazy.

If we didn't have Liam Jones we would be closer to bottom 4 than to top 4

Only guy in the team who can defend

While there might be a bit of hyperbole here, you’re not far off. We might’ve had 4-5 of the worst 5 players on the ground and a couple were in defense.

Not that it should be massively surprising that Gardner and O’Brien would put those performances in, but Jones basically stopped it from being a big margin.

Expected Score / Actual Score
WB: 88 / 77 (-11)
GC: 77 / 84 (+7)

Expected Margin: +11 / -7

Have you got GC shots on goal from marks/general play and goals from marks/general play?

Seemed to be beaten in the air more than at ground level inside def 50.

Classic Dogs.

The door gets flung open by the Saints and Dees and we stumble, bumble and trip over our feet and land in dog s***.

Golden opportunity and in the words of Plough we p*** it down the drain, we absolutely p*** it down the drain...don't anyone of you forget about it...'

Thank Christ the Saints, Dees and Cats (both coming off s*** losses for next week) lost and hopefully Lions and Port do the honourable thing and go down tomorrow, so the weekend it just a nil all draw.

However, with Geelong and Port to come in the next two weeks we now have to win both. Both at home then get to 10-4 at the break.

Great opportunity tonight to put a foothold on top 4, but we don't do things simple, so not sure why I expected it. In so many ways we just never take our chances...you just gotta beat a team like the Suns.

Hopefully we never have to return to Darwin, Cairns or any of those s***holes again.

Rowell was amazing, too strong for anyone in our list. Who could have tagged him? No one. English had a shocker for mine, but Witts is a real good ruck.

Naughton was beyond frustrating. Adjusting his headband mid contest in the 2nd quarter was a droppable offence, the 50 metre penalty silly, the tit for tat with Hannan laughable but worst of all taking a mark 45m out late in the 4th and playing on like he was 80m out.

The sub wasn't the difference tonight and shouldn't ever be.

The midfields inability to do anything about Rowell at stoppages. Deal with the Suns pressure at the ball carrier and their inability to efficiently move and deliver the ball to our forwards advantage all night. Was.

When we get beaten its invariably because these issues (centred around the dominance of an opposition midfield bull) come into sharp focus.

We've taken a lot of steps forward addressing these issues over the last 8 weeks. Tonight was a step backwards.

Also the umps were well and truly in our pocket tonight, but that Naughton shot that hit the flag pole just exposed how stupid and archaic hitting the post is. If it hits the post and goes in it’s a goal, if it comes back into play it’s play on. What purpose does it serve other than saying “look how different we do things?”

If that was the only game you'd ever seen Naughton play you'd wonder how he ever got an AFL contract. That was embarrassing and totally unacceptable from our second highest paid player.

It was absolutely embarrassing. Lobb wasn’t great and JUH did some very good things but despite the three goals had yet another “nearly” game - as in he could have torn it apart. But Naughton was atrocious in almost every facet of the game.

21 goals in 11 games as the main target in a top eight team is nowhere near enough. And if he can’t sort out his goal kicking then it’ll continue to have an outsized, negative effect on our chance of success.

Some of you are tripping wanting O’Donnell dropped. Was great tonight. Better than both Gardiner and O’Brien.

I’d be getting as many games in to him as possible.
At least from watching the VFL, he can read the ball well and actually go for the mark. Unlike a certain, cannot win a direct one on one contest, and only skill is punching it defender. I'd be giving him more a run is his actual position. O'Brien and Gards have over 150 games between them, and should not be making some of the positioning, ball and contested errors as often they do.

The most frustrating games to watch are when we play well and lose. Felt like we were on top from start to finish. I love Bevo, but we need a game plan that doesn’t allow teams to park their bus and counter-attack so effectively. Outdone by Stewy Dew. Darwin didn’t help but that was painful.
