There’s no way the Bulldogs need to invest in tall stock. They’ve been gifted a key tall in the first round every year (at least that’s what it feels like)I think you’re right , in fact smith they may spill first , will get crazy good trade value 2 x r1 likely . And they can invest in the tall stock , that said they got Darcy and Croft, early days I spose

His manager wouldn’t be stupid""Jason has been working with his management trying to tie him up for a longer period of time," GWS coach Adam Kingsley told media on Wednesday.
"I don't know exactly where it sits, but as always with these sorts of players, and particularly with Aaron, we're keen to get this done quickly.
"He's a massive part of our future. A big key forward who can win the ball on the ground and in the air. He complements who we have up there (in the forward line) already and I see him in the years to come taking over and being the man.
"We're really keen to lock him away quickly and are quite excited about what he's going to be as a Giants player." "

GWS moving "quickly" to re-sign No.1 pick

Sounds like GWS have been trying to re-sign Cadman for a while and he has been dragging his heels somewhat

We can't afford giving away first round picks we need quality kids to come in.Target free agency and draft well.
Yep.If Lynch stays on the park and gets good support from one other then our plans may shift.Depends on the target. Someone like Cadman would be worth trading heavy.
But otherwise go the draft.
If we are lucky our many picks next year will get us a nice draft hand and then we either trade or just take good picks.
If our young KPFs start to show a fair bit in 2024 then I reckon our trade plans will change.
Lets hope some clubs like SA / WA clubs go after some of our excess older players like McIntosh , Graham , Grimes etc
Would be happy to see these players get offered better deals and line their bank accounts whilst getting RFC some compo picks to strengthen our draft hand further.
Lets hope Jack Graham and Kamdyn McIntosh have excellent years
Then again a very good start to the 2024 season will also see a change in our trade plans to our advantage...Depends on the target. Someone like Cadman would be worth trading heavy.

Both reallyYou want them to have excellent years for the teams sake or so we can get better value for them?
Tom Lynch acquisition has been an absolutely brilliant move by the Richmond Football Club. How much are we prepared to pay for another marque forward ? They must have their eye on another forward after trading into the next years draft. Trading draft picks plus a player ?Giants open talks on new deal with No.1 pick
Aaron Cadman has started discussions with GWS on a contract extension beyond the end of 2024

We really should offer Marshall a deal he can’t refuse so we pay nothing as he’s a free agent
Then we get to keep our very strong draft hand
I do enjoy the narrative around the whipping boys. They suck and should play VFL, but should net us good picks at the trade table or in free agency compensation when we move them on as they're not good enough for us.You want them to have excellent years for the teams sake or so we can get better value for them?
I think we could add an additional 2 first rounders, maybe not top 5 in the draft, but maybe around 10-15?A lot could also depends on how those who determine our future picks go, namely freo. We could even target another "5 inside 30" scenario, finish off the future core we started building in '21 Draft.

Yeah but what are we prepared to pay him ?Todd Marshall, come on down!!!!!!
You pay him enough to get Port to allow him to leave without fuss, allowing us to keep any R1 picks we may end up with through trading.Yeah but what are we prepared to pay him ?
Ben Mackay getting $850k a year Marshall would be looking at more
