Coaches overcomplicate the game. Harley Reid had 27 touches 7 clearances in his 5th game before he even turned 19. Elliot Yeo is 12 years older and had 27 & 15.

Easier to lock the ball in when there's a stoppage. Coaches love repeat stoppages inside 50. Probably get burnt on turnover more often if it isn't marked, due to everyone being out of position.

After the 666 came in it makes sense. Unless it comes clean out the front you’re better off mitigating risks and not turning it over in the centre.

Hacking it forward to even numbers is a good fall back if you don’t get clean possession

Surely it's gotta be a joke. They should never have been able to get a #1 draft pick with 6 picks in the 50s anyway. I hate the point system so much - round 1 FS/AC etc, should need a round 1 pick.

The Bulldogs shouldn't have to pay his salary though - he's not doing his job, and it's not through injury.
