I think he should. We seem pretty desperate to develop a Big Roo. There was that bloke from Guyana and then this current Big Roo. Might be best to just get someone on the list to change their name rather than limiting ourselves to recruiting from a pretty small pool of prospective footballers called Big Roo.
Smit has already claimed Big Roo. Sorry for mucked up post.

Yeah, still a long way before the end of the year. Lots of things can happen. Out of the top 3, I reckon Steene is the one most impressing at this stage. Dean has been performing well too.
I'm very curious what they are doing with Smit. Is this defence a temporarily thing, is it something they are persisting with?

Spot on Jen2310

Lot of Water to go under the Bridge until those kind of Calls need to be Made

Vic Metro has announced its 28-player squad for the U18s National Championships boys carnival.

The squad is headlined by AFL Academy members Cooper Duff-Tytler, Ollie Greeves, Tom Burton, Archie Ludowyke and Louis Emmett.

There are also seven club-tied players: Carlton NGA pair Tyson Gresham and Jack Ison, Collingwood NGA pair Zac McCarthy and Jai Saxena and Pies father-son prospect Tom McGuane, Essendon NGA pair Adam Sweid and Hussien El Achkar and St Kilda-tied halfback Kye Fincher.

Is this bad for us?
If this is the wrong place to post this I will delete.
Why on earth anyone would think that having priority on multiple talented and highly rated youngsters is a bad thing is beyond me. What would you prefer, we had a bunch of barely draftable plodders? Because that’s the other option.

How is Collingwood going to get 3 picks in the top 30 players of this years' draft?
We’ll do it while licking the salty tears off your cheeks after winning this years flag. Right in front of you.

The bad thing I was concerned about was the attention they are getting and as a result they will be higher in the draft and therefore require more points.
That is all. :)

They’re getting attention because they’re good. If they weren’t getting attention, then they wouldn’t be draftable, just like every other NGA player we didn’t draft before them.

Stop worrying about points, that’s a fools game.

The experts in the recruiting- list management will work out the points. They are paid to do so 😂 I wouldn’t worry- as long as they want them, clubs usually find the points required . Worse case? Go into deficit.

Plus a fair few a academies in this years draft so any bids I reckon will drift

Tasmania should offer him millions for an onfield coaching role for 2 years
Imagine all those talented young players having Pendles right there giving you immediate tips and feedback

* I don’t want Pendles to go - just what I would do if running Tas
Unlikely at 40.

Forget about Ed Richards as just Re-Signed at the Dogs for 5 Years

Was never leaving anyway - Just like Maynard

Or good? We'll make it work, find the points required.
To be able to get three quality kids given all the media saying we have none, with no first rounder, would be a bonus.
The fact that there are so many F/S, NGA and academy players should help us, at least to a certain extent.
We still need to get some points.

This is why nobody likes rangas

We need to do everything in our favour to land Rowell. ****ing perfect player for us.

I would sacrifice our rights to McGuane, Saxena and McCarthy to land the glorious ranga.

Controversial but if we were truly a chance I would have traded Bobby to get the picks needed to get him (sorry Bobby love you).

I mean, I'd trade Ned Long because he's the player he'd replace in our 23.

The fans would riot if we traded Bobby especially after he just re-signed!

I mean before the re-signing obviously. And because his currency is extremely high unlike Long. Anyway it’s gone and I’ll keep enjoying Bobby’s magic under our colours, but as a cold pure list management decision it would have made a lot of sense (HH, Hayes can play the position as youngsters going forward)

Am I the only one who thinks Steene will be up against it, doesn’t put up great numbers in vfl. Bulldogs Lachlan Smith is 2 years younger and puts up huge numbers
He is a Very Good Mark around the Ground and has taken some big Marks up forward as well.

Smit is the one that has some Worry. Been Average in the Ruck this season and looks lost around the Ground at VFL Level

Rowell’s value on the market is considerably more than B. Hill.
