Another prolific outing for Josh Lindsay, rebounding off half back for Vic Country and directing play with his silky left boot. His Country team was under the pump all game from a SA team that's dominated this Champs series, but Lindsay was able to absorb the pressure and respond with composure and class all game.

We joke about accumulating half backs that can run through the middle, but since Jetta our 1/2 back flankers disposal has been substandard and it costs us big time when games are on the line and pressure is at its highest (must have been 10 plus kicks that came from Duggan and Baker that were butchered and went over their targets head or at their feet).

Simply can't run with Baker, Cole and Duggan, even two of them is too much.

Would be nice to have another McCarthy's like sublime disposal king coming through from half back hitting up targets lace out.

for those who where at the game, what was Rodriguez's role today?

Swadling is the pick of the WA midfielders, better by hand and in close than Rodriguez and Whan, can accumulate and use it around the ground. Kicking is a little suspect at times.

Rodriguez and Whan look like second round picks both pretty slow, heavy runners and not that great in close.

Kelly is similarly placed but i have more confidence in his game translating than the above two. He's more explosive and better with his hands. Just needs a better fitness base.

Hallett is interesting. was underdone, played out of position all champs and done pretty well.

Charlie is understated. A good sleeper pick for us with solid skills, marking and running power.

Walley is okay, consistent across the games so far but not a raw game breaking prospect.

We should be pretty thankful that Evans has been injured because his explosive pace and transition game would probably attract the most interest of all of WA's NGA/ FS prospects this year.

Swadling playing half forward again and still been in Wa best
His handballing is so so good

Thought he lacked some composure today and at times looked slow.

Played ok but I thought he didn't maximise his chances.

Swaddles with a tidy 23D, 1 goal, 4 tackles and 7 score involvements.

Genuinely curious about what his range is. Doubt he lasts until Hawks second, could it be our second (pick 19) after it drops back further.

I think he sits around where the Hawks first will be, probably bobble out to our second rounder however he will be in with a very even bunch at that range, so we will have a some good prospects to choose from.

I see Harley Barker in that same range and I would take him before Swaddles.
Would gladly take Barker with the Hawks first.

Sharp to me looks like a similar type to Ryle Sanders at the bulldogs. Will be a nice AFL player, a good accumulator, but not sure he is the type of player you take with pick 1.

That being said, if it’s not him, I don’t know who it is for us.

the way we have been last 6 weeks, I don't think its a given yet that we finish last. we are a bit unlucky not to have same wins as them.

if we play few more games like last night we will get a couple and we still play Richmond at home.

Agree. I can't see Richmond winning another one. We should beat them at home and then it wouldn't surprise me to see us pinch one or two others. I think our percentage will be greater than Richmonds also.

Round 24 at home to the Swans. They will likely have a few in for surgery at that stage and prepping for an early preseason.

Plus a loss might help them get in front of the Max King bid.

How did Farrow play, looks to have had really good numbers stat's wise?

Played very well has been one of our most consistent contributors across the Championships.

Went into the city today to have a geez at the next generation. Sacrificed the first quarter for a sleep in. I was mostly keen on Duursma vs Sharp shaping up for pick one (assuming we have it).

Sharp - looked great in the contest, creating time and space with composure and solid disposal. Also notably his tackles stick, even if he just gets one hand on the jumper. However his running concerns me, especially getting around the ground. Looks very compact almost like a waddle, I wonder if he was carrying an injury as he didn't look to be moving well. Still very keen on him, I think he will add plenty to our midfield.

Duursma - flashes in and out, some great highlights and some moments to forget. Seems to be mostly a receiver. Did go on ball in the last quarter, didn't seem to have a huge amount of impact for mine. Did not sell me today.

Barker was the big stand out as well, hugely damaging and always in the right spot.

Snuck to the pub for lunch, Moon Dog Doglands gets a tick of approval.

Only saw the second quarter of WA vs Allies but did not see Rodriguez touch the ball, was disappointing.
Walley looks exciting but I hope there is more substance to his game.
Williams looked a little more involved.
Curtin is huge, moves better than I expected for his size. I hope his game translates to the higher level.

I am clearly not a talent scout so I didnt notice to much else of note but all the play I watched was of a good, entertaining quality. Also, shout out to the Marvel staff who were excellent.

Anyone want to have a crack at U18 champs standout players for WC list needs in the open draft?
Lots of questions I have but 2 players are standing out in Sharp & Lindsay.
Sharp is an inside bull who is the clearest number 1 mid in the draft pool and daylight.
Lindsay is an elite HB with very good kick, skills and footy IQ, he may get to an outside mid/wing in time.
Lots of players are having underwhelming champs.
Rodriguez?
Duursma?
NHH?
Grilj?
Greeves?

Looks to be a few rising that were probably 15-25 rated pre champs but putting their names up for higher order.
Cumming?
Barker?
Swadling?

That's my thoughts, might be wrong but interested to see who you think would be in our sights?

cheers, you just answered a qustion I just posted, who looked decent for us and who is falling and rising.
really like Sharp, Barker, Lindsay.

I'd go Sharp 1 and Lindsay 2.
Sharp goes straight into the guts and Lindsay on the wing/half back.

The hawks pick becomes really interesting, could one of the SA forwards be available, if so do we take the punt and move Archer into defence.

If not a Forward, maybe a tall defender or young ruck would be ideal at that point.

What are people's thoughts on Harding, is he too short for Afl level ruck?

How good would it be to emphasise how much of a joke the draft has become.
If GCS don’t come to the party with their best pick swapping for points with our later picks I’d happily go Uwland 1, Patterson 2.

Rolling up the sleeves and a little bit of Ned Moyle blackmail wouldn’t go astray either.

What is Sam Cummings draft range? Late first? Like his game a lot.
Barker at the hawks pick would be nice too. Their disposals are quality over quantity
Probably 5-10 at the moment, has probably put himself slightly ahead of Grlj and Rodriguez who are also in that discussion.

If we end up with Oscar compo, I’m less keen on trading up in this draft, but I wouldn’t mind trading 2R picks for future 1R

Agree with the 5-10 range, has been very consistent in the Champs and been one of SA's prime movers.

Has a lot of AFL attributes and I see some Zac Bailey like attributes in the way he plays, but he is a much better kick that Bailey.

Better overhead too although a very good comparison. 👍

He is a inside mid played at half forward for the championships
He is the best handballer in this draft his hands are elite and his positioning is so good
Would instantly help our contested ball numbers
