They didn’t notice that the formatting completely changes with Nicholls and Walkers write up. Looks like they’ve been photoshopped in. On Word it takes 2 buttons to fix this.
And Aish as well. They have 9 names and couldn’t find a way to equally distribute them to not screw up the format

Not necessarily, their off field leadership matters.
Wasn’t Sonny back early to preseason with the youngsters? And Fyfe a club legend, we couldn’t get a better role model. I’m not disappointed at all they are on the list.
If they’d been given one year deals for 2024, there isn’t a chance either wouldn’t have been renewed for 2025 based off last years form. Puts us in exactly the same situation we’re in right now. It is what it is.

I think they have shown a lot more off-field leadership, maturity and training standards then any 4th round draft pick would have done.

Both had decent 2024 seasons and their roles were areas of little depth, especially on field experience component.
I suppose it was still technically a mistake giving a 2 year contract at the time as 2 x 1 year would give the club more control but even in hindsight it made zero difference. Hopefully it saved us 50k per player.
Fair enough but there's plenty of leaders that can show training standards at the club. Guys like Caleb Serong, Alex Pearce, Andy Brayshaw, Jordan Clark, Switta, JOM, Josh Treacy.
Ruthless coaches, like the Alistair Clarkson's of the world, only give 1 year contracts to guys over 30. Especially if they have a history of injury (like Fyfe).
I honestly thought the 2 year contract for both players was bonkers at the time. Give them a year. If they play well, give them another year.
I respect Fyfe for being an absolute champion but we are in the business of winning premierships and to do that, we really should be making hard calls.

I have never seen Jack Delean play but his last 4-5 weeks have been solid on the stats sheet. On a wet paddock like the SCG with the unpredictability of the bounce, I wouldn't be against playing a mosquito fleet. Give the kid a go!
