Doesnt tick many of my boxes. In fact, doesnt really tick any. I guess we have different boxes worth ticking.
Draper a much better fit and ticks a lot more of my boxes than OA. The only issue with Draper is what it would cost to get him on board because Brisbane have never payed big $ even now with some of our stars.

It’s all an opinion mate.I just have a different one to yours & some others. For me OA is more out for himself rather than the team. We have enough of them already. Add to that his consistent injury status that everyone thinks our medico’s can magically fix which is a myth.

Draper has played 35 games in the last 3 seasons.

Constantly injured Allen has played 46 in the same period.

Don’t know how you’ve come to that conclusion.

He’s always been an ultimate team player and played what ever role/position he’s been asked to. Certainly not a player to take a shot at goal if there’s a teammate in a better position.

Has to be referring to OA meeting with Mitchell in season right? Which is what every player does these days (sounds like Starce is doing so now).

Answerth has stepped up in a pretty impressive way this year. We have an abundance of players in that spot actually, not sure about the like for like quality but we have coverage.

Pretty sure it's why we extended Shadeau to 2027 earlier this year, in case Starc leaves.

Have him in our 10 best players a lot of weeks.
Behind Harris, Payne and Zorko in intercepts although seems to always read the ball well and get in the right spot

not want to loose Starc although if he wants some mid time not going to be here there is queues like Disneyland to get into the centre.

would love to keep starce but if hes looking for midfield opportunities and / or a big payday he would be remiss to not be exploring his options. i think we can cover for his loss reasonably well if it comes down to it.

Don't want to see him go, but we need to get games into more young ones. Marshall and Annable will need some game time sooner or later.

I doubt he'll ever be a midfielder. Or at least an effective one.

Starc is one of our most irreplaceable players right now to me. Elite shut down in a backline lacking a strong defensive mindset. Not only that is how ferocious, physical and tough he is, which to me has been massive in shaping us from being talented but a bit flaky to a truly mature and seasoned team the comp fears.

The game last year at marvel vs saints where he completely destroyed Higgins not just by shutting him down but by making him look like a little kid a great example of the shift. Ross in the post game presser highlighted how impressed he was with Starc too. Then of course repeated that on GF day when he did that same thing to Papley and I feel was a big part in killing the Swans mentally that day with how hard he was.

Long way of saying his role and intangibles are critical to our squad imo (especially in finals) & I can’t see how we’d replace it.

Of course - his concussions, his ambitions, the salary cap etc factor in I know but will battle anyone downplaying how much of a loss it would be to lose him

So what you're saying is Carlton will bring him in for $1m pa?

i think from our backline fletcher and wilmot have traits id want in a midfielder before starcevich.

don't recall him ever training with the mids or us even using him as a rotation there. i would be surprised if a club offered him a big pay day to come play midfield given he would be a relatively unknown commodity there and has the concussion baggage as well.
