A person seeking his time in the sun with his mates, boasting to all and sundry of his hilarious text to the official hotlineBloke was still a dickhead.
But the only real crime is a 4th rate attempt at humour...
I agree, the penalty is harsh. I don’t feel outraged by it, or ready to question the democracy in which I live.Yeah might be valid in an authoritarian dictatorship but not in our liberal democracy.
Expose the tool and drop the ban, drop the knee jerk over reaction.

Wrong. The one thing that could not have happened was that the text was ignored. They would have a bunch of steps/procedures to follow as soon as a text arrived suggesting- even in jest - a murder was on the way.How does that message even get air time?
It could have been ignored, treated with the dumb contempt it deserved.
Instead, blowing it up has been more damaging than the dumb ass comment.
Far worse has been said about other coaches. Including on here, about Buckley in particular.
I wonder who the prominent person was? That’s the only twist left in the story.
Nah, stay angry. Just don’t think you can be surprisedIt did feel a little bit like an exercise to take the heat off Voss and the team's performance. We are being told to support the club the right way i.e no anger.
Given the deeply sinister connotations of the word “get”, I’m going to say “yes” in case you mean “whack”, “cap”, “neutralize” or “liquidate” Curnow.
The silver lining for the Blues and also could be their slogan for next year, "Well, it couldn't get any worse, could it?"You’ve got to commend the Blues for having a ‘Silver Lining’ thread.
It’s never really as bad as it seems.
For instance, Carlton still has Brunetti’s who make an alright cannoli.
Geez I wish mods on here could ban the media.
The media are the worst in all of this, clearly let this be incorrectly identified as a disgruntled blues fan threatening death to the coach. Even had Voss saying 'you don't belong here' i:e thought was an angry carlton fan threatening murder, when it wasn't.
That is some sick stuff in the chase of creating click bait.
Reckon whoever in the media was behind this should face some accountability, not the clown who sent the text.
CFC haven't covered themselves in glory either, playing politically correct advocate isn't gonna go down well with the fans and public in general.
The club should take down this statement, it's a knee jerk reaction.
The highlighted part, it's all well and good to sit back now and say, it's just a joke, but they got the text and they had to act like it was a serious threat, if they didn't (act) and something happened...Wrong. The one thing that could not have happened was that the text was ignored. They would have a bunch of steps/procedures to follow as soon as a text arrived suggesting- even in jest - a murder was on the way.
As an aside, no doubt the little Jobsworth manning the hotline would have been very excited to send a text “up the line”.

Yeah, it would be shocking procedure to ignore it. If they did and something, or anything, had happened, the outrage would be rightfully incredibleWrong. Carlton would love him to step away so that they don’t have to make the call. The highlighted part, it's all well and good to sit back now and say, it's just a joke, but they got the text and they had to act like it was a serious threat, if they didn't (act) and something happened...
Luckily it turned out to be a joke, a really sh!t joke, but, I gotta feel for Voss, the amount of pressure he'll be under from Blues supporters, the board, Booing from fans, media, now a death threat. It wouldn't surprise me if he stepped away due to pressure and mental health.
The silver lining for the Blues and also could be their slogan for next year, "Well, it couldn't get any worse, could it?"
I wouldn't be surprised if Fly offered him a role if we lose assistant coaches. Skipworth is in demand and Carlton are circling. Voss has been surrounded by inadequate assistant's and powerbrokers who have more money than brains. I like Voss and he's being treated like shitCarlton would love him to step away so that they don’t have to make the call.
I reckon Voss is a pretty strong person and will keep going until they sack him. I still think he has lots to offer as a senior assistant coach.
Oh Carlton certainly would. But i guess my post was more, i wouldn't blame him if...Carlton would love him to step away so that they don’t have to make the call.

I think Fly would be in Skipworths ear, but saying, don't do it, i've spoken to Vossy and it's not worth it.I wouldn't be surprised if Fly offered him a role if we lose assistant coaches. These guys like to back themselves in. Graham Wright will fix the joint and he'll be all over Skipworth. It would be hard to knock back a senior coaching roleI think Fly would be in Skipworths ear, but saying, don't do it, i've spoken to Vossy and it's not worth it.

Assistant coaching is a pretty rubbish job. Long hours for relatively low pay. I'd be surprised if Voss would want another crack at it - unless of course he needed the dough.Admired Vossy as a player and that he fronts up no matter what
He is a poor game day coach - bad strategy and struggles to adapt
This doesn’t suggest being a line coach for us would be good
Would he be able to teach our mids much?
Maybe I’m underestimating what he would teach our youngsters
Perhaps the biggest win would be to dump Luke Hodge and replace him with a grinning ranga

Yes I knew about the altercation with a security guard. I was at the game and was shocked to hear about the incident on my way home.Yes, it was reported last week that they got into an altercation with security at a game at the G a few weeks prior - Bulldogs v Pies.
What is the common denominator here?
