Develop Bo Allan into the Patty Cripps inside bull type contested mid.

Tom Gross becomes our Zak Butters inside to outside type.

Split picks 1 and/or 2 for multiple 1sts, trade one into next year and take 3 or 4 of the following: Sharp, Cumming, Lindsay, Grlj, Rodriguez, Farrow.

Not overly excited by the top of the draft class and I think more value will be uncovered in the later picks.

No need to complicate things
Sharp and Lindsay
That or Sharp & Cumming.

Things may change from now til draft day but at this point, we should keep 1&2.
I really want Cumming on our list but the more I think of it, the more I wonder if Lindsay is the go. We'll still have a top 5 pick next year. The question for me is what role can we fill this year that we might not be able to fill next year.

Trade in Darcy Cameron
Pick 1 CDT
Split pick 2, take the best available mids
Hope that Hewett and Gross can become permanent impactful mids in 2026, to support Harley, with further improvement from Hall.
We would be dreaming to think any 1st round mids taken this year will impact too much next year anyway, and I really do think that Sharp is overrated.
I know most of you won’t like my way of thinking, but there it is.

If we get Pick 2 for compensation for Oscar, and we want something specific, we should target players. We need a contested body to help Reid then take Sharp? we need an elite kick, then take Lindsay?

Or maybe we skip on Lindsay and look at Farrow at pick 14. That pick will slide down to 19 or so.

No top 20 from WA by Twomey?

2 elite ball users in 6 months (McCarthy + Lindsay) would be nice.
Slowly remove ALL of Duggan's kicks in the back half and replace with these two and we have to improve just on that alone.

I find Duggan's kicks fwd of centre far less an issue.

Be very hesitant to trade down this year going of the power rankings
Depends on what you can get.

Picks alone I wouldn't, but some of the pipe dream ideas where we trade 2 for a higher pick but get Flanders or Darcy Wilson seem nice.
The latter surely won't happen though.
Flanders possibly, but I doubt StKilda give up Wilson + a 1st just for 2 when there isn't a defined must get top 5 players. (These were random posts in this thread)

Flanders wouldn't be much early mid second guess you could make a gentlemen's agreement with gcs not to bid on there players.

Wilson would be OK perhaps picks 2 and hawks 2025 or wce 2nd for 5 and Wilson least that gives you one of sharp, Cummings, Lindsay, CDT or durs.

Wouldn't want to slide back any more then bombers or stk. 6-10 is a real dead spot this year suspect we will see a lot of reaches

is in contention to be the first ruckman to be a No.1 pick since Matthew Kreuzer in 2007
What a glowing endorsement to take CDT at pick 1

The top 5 of Cal and Fox would put us in a really good position. Essendon have indicated they may be keen to jump Richmond for Duursma which leaves 2+? for 5,7.

If it’s the Hawks R1, I think we could push for their 2R to come back too. We could then send 21,24,30 for GCS for Port’s pick along with no bids. Ideally we also swap Ryan and BWilliams for Moyle. Uwland and Patterson and our picks give us huge leverage for bids to get their pick and Moyle.

1,5,7,8 hopefully gives Sharp, Cumming, Lindsay, Schubert and Moyle with pick 48 remaining to send to the Lions for Neale.

Baker HEdwards Ginbey
Allan AReid McCarthy
Cumming HReid Lindsay
Hewett Shanahan Sharp
Brockman Waterman Champion
Moyle Neale Graham
JWilliams Hall Maric Duggan
Gross

Cody Curtin monstered his Colts opponents on his way to a bag of 6 goals and a big win for Claremont. Curtin has dropped way off the draft radar in recent months with his struggles to impact for the Academy and for WA at the Champs. This game was a solid start to getting his draft campaign back on track, but we already know that he can monster Colts opponents. From here he's likely going to need a call up to play senior WAFL footy and perform at that level to really shift perception.

Brisbane and Gold Coast have done an incredible job with their academies. Hopefully we're looking at what they're doing and trying to replicate it.

Well we can't replicate it, because not only are there limitations on who enters our academy, there's limitations on how much contact time we get with them.
