Hawks really dont need another workhorse type mid to add to their almost entirely workhorse midfield, they need some starpower, or an A-grader. Day is the closest thing they have to that and he cant get in the park.

Dont think Steele is the right fit there, steele fits our list perfectly though tbh.

I think Steele, at his best, would add a bit more class to a Hawks midfield - but either way, I suspect he'd have suitors close to home.

He would be a good fit for WCE. It'd have to be a 4 year deal to push it into our favour though, that's a bit of a commitment for a guy fading at 29 (30 in Dec.)

He does have 2-3 years on other potential targets though.

Gossage just on sen mentioned the blowtorch. Now turning on the Eagles… Simpson just casually dropped in the “ it can’t still be my fault can it” and went to a break….

Yikes Simmo.

These things are best not said mate.

Let's hope he's back in clubland (or at the AFL) next year - he's a good analyst but ghosts of 2021-2024 are still a bit....current.

Also Schofield saying on back chat that a gcs forward might be wanting to move to West coast, whether its true or not
He probably got that idea from us though rather than the other way around.

Hello Schoey if you're reading.

Since when aren't rucks allowed to jump?
They changed the rules so rucks didn't injure their knees.
Basically they made it so they had the circle for a limited run up.
Then they removed the line so an oppo ruck could essentially encroach into the rucks space.
It's why there are basically no leaping rucks these days and all of them wrestle.

It sucks.

His analysis has been great this year across the comp, but he is a dead set dick head if he actually said that.

Ball park numbers

Hawks 1 our 2nd (call it picks 14 19) 1800 points. For pick 8 and davies moyle. That's a 400 point upgrade. No bids at 1 and 2 saves them another 1100

2 lindsay
8 cumming
Hawks 2nd for Cameron

Our 3rd for battle or neale

Hope for AFL assistance for free hits on

Any 23/24-year-old midfielders in the WAFL that would potentially be worth looking at?

Yes Milan Murdock from East Freo is a ball magnet. How he keeps being overlooked is incredible. Probably because of his height as he is not a big mid. We should definitely be grabbing him. Just looks like a player to me that will just play well at any level.

haha, Simmo still not taking responsibility for his performance.

Outside age group - is 26.

Just throwing a name out there - Will Brodie. Apparently Port are asking the question. A little limited but as I understand good inside mid.

I expect would one cheap.

I’ll leave the watchers to decide yes or no.

Mark duffield did have a throw away line about a month ago that he also heard west coast were into jed walter when a caller mentioned him. Doesn't mean we will get him but at least he's not a headline chaser like schoey/gossage

With the big knock on us being list management and player development (especially in the Beagles) over the past few years, I would say the level of blame on him would be proportional to the say he had in those aspects.

He 100% said it…Almost made me punch the cars dash in anger…
Unbelievable.

But he is right in one sense. It's not ALL his fault. He can share the shame and the blame 50/50 with Nisbett.

Hard to believe he would ever get a job again as a senior coach. And he wouldn't take a job as an assistant. So it is probably an AFL HQ sponsored job he will be getting in footy development or something.

I agree we’d have to commit overs in terms of years to get him across but the trade capital should be low.

I think his age is actually ideal for us. Gives us immediate help and will be done when Harley, Hewett and the guys we draft will be ready. If we go for a 2nd tier younger midfielder like Dev or Erasmus, they may provide immediate help but longer term may also hinder development of those coming through with a higher ceiling (assuming we actually decide to draft high end midfielders).
