Konate could/should have just jumped in and taken one for the team. A shit tackle and a yellow card 30 yards from goal is much better than letting him run unopposed to the edge of the box.I dont even think Konate was that bad for the second goal. The problem was it was 4 v 2. Virg was tracking the guy to Semenyo's left and Konate was having to hedge his bets and marshall Semenyo. Cos if he goes to the ball and tries to tackle Semenyo had two completely free players to his right and if he commits and doesnt make it then it's a 1 v 1 against Ali.
So Konate was just trying to sort of corral everybody, keep Semenyo at bay, keep him from passing right while VVD had the left covered and then hopefully help arrives or Semenyo makes the wrong decision, poor ball or wild shot. Unfotunately Semenyo just made the right call and scored a banger.
It looks worse than it is IMO for Ibou on that play.
Remind him it's a World Cup year and he won't be getting picked for France if he's sitting on the bench. The issue with Ibou is if he has already decided to go down the "run-down then Real" path, because the only option then is to not play him and we can't afford to do that.
It's the only card we can play, and we can only play it if we're fully fit. I'm concerned the Real playbook will work again.Remind him it's a World Cup year and he won't be getting picked for France if he's sitting on the bench.
Source?Sounds like Guehi is gone for 35m
I value your opinion and can see your points of view. I feel that if players like figo, Ronaldo and laudrup to name a few can cross from arch enemies barca to real , then we can get over someone leaving us fro real. It's the only card we can play, and we can only play it if we're fully fit. If it can work with a Scouse...
On this issue, Real are the enemy. Man U and Everton are pests who annoy us occasionally. Real stop us getting what we want, and they should be treated accordingly. In my view you can be a Liverpool person or a Real person, but not both.
Fair enough. I don't hold grudges against players. I probably think more kindly about Owen than most Liverpool fans, remembering fondly watching the FA Cup Final in 2001 in my room and trying not to wake everyone up when he scored the winner.I value your opinion and can see your points of view. Absolutely. Or one with Chris Wood inadvertently photobombing, with a shirtwang out of his fly, setting the likes of Romano off.Wonder if they asked if Isak could join them in that last photo![]()
Chris Wood to Reds-Here We Go! Understand Wood only wants Reds…
I'm tired of the Isak drama, man, either sign him the next few days or move onto alternatives. I think we need a left winger better than Gakpo more urgently
He won't be signed until after we play Newcastle. They won't want him playing against them.
Nothing is guaranteed here. What we do know is that Hughes does this better than anyone under Edwards’ guidance. To me that isn't guaranteed, with 5 days in the window after that game, it's easy for the Saudis to dig their heels in and not sell.
Seems pretty obvious Newcastle is doing some last gasp posturing before selling Isak after playing us. There's no other realistic alternative, the player/club bridges have been burned.
