Yeah I can see that. But when they’re all fit is the last spot between Szobo & Macca? Szobo with his elite pressing and workrate, obviously there will be rotation at numerous times through the year.

Would be interesting to see what slots ideal starting 11 & formation is when all fit.

Hoping Guehi is done early next week and Isak after the Toon game.
Macca and Grav provides the most stable protection to the back 4. There will be plenty of games to rotate all of them though.

Correct. If we want to play 60-65 games this year and challenge the CL title and cope with injuries, to be able to rotate players with quality is critical.

Guehi a must. Slot wants Isak. Reckon that’s enough.

Buying 2 CB’s by the looks of it. I wonder if we are selling Konate this window!

starship troopers im from buenos aires and i say kill em all GIF

The defence was absolute dogshit and if they perform like that against the Geordies we will get hammered. Konate played probably the worst game I have seen him play. I had the Sky commentary with Carra as co-commentator and he absolutely slaughtered Ibou on both goals but the 2nd in particular he was very critical. If we do get Guehi I can see him coming in and partnering Virgil.

Ekitike with a goal and assist on PL debut, on the opening weekend where an opposing forward scores a brace and teammate Salah scores (of course)

The last player to score a goal and assist on debut? One Darwin Nunez, against Fulham in August 2022, opening weekend, the opposing forward scores a brace (Mitrovic) and Salah scored (of course).

Alarming that we were 2-0 up at home and then completely lost control of the match. There's 10 days between Bournemouth and Newcastle so hopefully plenty of training sessions for Slot to sort some tactics out.

Slot doesn't seem to give Chiesa much praise. Slot seems to be a hard manager to win over. It sounded in the press conference that Chiesa owed us that goal and maybe he did lol

Endo is slowly making progress and getting more chances. Maybe the same thing can happen with Chiesa.
The Dutch are not subtle people

Ekitike is such a smooth mover. He looks like a fantastic acquisition. He looked so creative and cut through the defensive lines with finesse rather than power. And still so young with the world at his feet. Very excited about watching his career at Liverpool unfold. No pressure …

Watching both the Sky post match analysis and Match of the Day it is all to do with positioning of the full backs and having too many players forward. On the 2nd goal we had 8 players in the box with nobody sitting in a 6 position. Jones was sort of in that spot but for some reason decided to run past 2 Bournemouth players and join everyone else in the box.

Carra gave Slot a decent grilling about it and he basically said he is fine with it depending on where the opposition players are. He also said the big difference compared to last season was not having Grav there.

Konate was putrid and Virgil not much better. The defending on the 2nd goal conceded was amateur hour stuff.

We definitely need Guehi & Leoni to keep VVD and Konate on their toes. VVD isn't going to be able to play every minute of every game anymore - sometimes he can appear lethargic.

Konate needs his future sorted - he signs a mega 5 year extension or we sell him. It should be that simple.

Selling should be a last resort as that's far too many outgoings from last season's squad all in the space of a single window. We gotta throw everything at Ibou including the kitchen sink on a new contract.

The issue with Ibou is if he has already decided to go down the "run-down then Real" path, because the only option then is to not play him and we can't afford to do that.

I finally got around to watching the replay. Salah had no right to win that last ball let alone score a goal - Never Give Up ;)

Wirtz was a bit off sadly. Ekitike was great and I thought Fringpong was great as well.

It is noticeable how much Liverpool are playing down the left. Even Salah scored his goal from the left. Not sure how good that strategy is with the best player in the world on the right hand side.

Konate was disastrous - hopefully he can clean that up.
