I'd be very surprised if there isn't a change in the way arsenal play this year.

Expect Arsenal to give up more possession to get more counter-attacking opportunities - Eze, Gyokeres and Madueke all fast players, with both Eze and Madueke being dribblers with high shot volumes.

Eze in particular is a great signing for me as he can operate more as a second attacking midfielder rather than just thinking of him as a wide forward like a Martinelli. When facing certain teams I wouldn't be surprised if Arteta plays a midfield of:

Eze, Odegaard and one of Rice/Zub/Merino.

if Odegaard is injured, i'd expect Eze to slot into his role against Liverpool.

Eze for Odegaard
Madueke for Saka

Crazy to think we now have 6 Hale End players in the 25! Saka, Eze, Lewis-S, Nwaneri, Nelson and now Dowman.

Luckily we had "depth" now.

I also didn't notice how bullshit our start to the season was

Man United (a) W
Leeds (h) W
Liverpool (a) D
Nott Forrest (h) W
Man City (h) W
Newcastle (a) D

If we come out of this run without a loss it will be a great effort to start the season.

Surely not. What is going on? Berta is on an absolute mad one.

Definitely means that Kiwior is gone. Will be a shame to lose him, but he is good enough to start at a CL club.

But does that mean that they are not confident on Saliba extending?

Or White's injury is worse than first feared?

Edit: looks like he plays LCB / LB

“Subject to player exits”, that’s the key wording from Ornstein. Very interesting. I don’t believe €20m reflects Kiwior’s value.

I don’t think I’ve seen an interview like this where the player is just absolutely on cloud 9 during it.

Yes I caught this earlier this morning at the airport, it’s incredible. Watched it again now properly and hits you in all the feels. Outstanding. Ian Wright never ceases to amaze.

The jubilation in his responses really got me. Eze represents any Arsenal fan getting to fulfil his boyhood dream. That's what makes this incredible. Plus the connection with Wrighty and Palace - it's perfect.

Sounds like a loan with obligation really works in Bayer's favor, given they've already made big cash in sales this window.

Also sounds like we are getting fleeced with Kiwior.

How much did Bayer sign that backup CB Quansah for from Liverpool? That should have been the absolute minimum we asked for. But Porto aren't in the business of spending big.

Ah well, he clearly wants to go there instead of staying in the EPL, so hopefully he gets his move.

Porto close to securing Kiwior. Loan + obligation to buy, grand total of £26m. Reasonable business. Bought him for £20m. The magic wand that is Amortisation means we 'technically' make £18m in profit. Nelson, Viera, Lokonga and Zinchenko to go. Hicampie to come. Busy final week ahead.

I really liked seeing Josh Kreonke there for the signing.

Yes definitely noticed that. The owners are usually in London this time of year anyway, he’s likely left now that the first home match has been played. But the swiftness of Arsenal’s decision making wouldn’t have been possible without Josh Kroenke there, especially that pivotal board meeting last Wednesday.

How I’d love to hear that transcript from Eze’s “please save me” call to Arteta that day :D

Away to Port Vale in the league cup final. A good opportunity for a number of youth players. Having said that, Arsenal finished the match against Leeds with two 18 year olds and a 15 year old on the pitch, incredible.

Our 2nd 11 could be:

Kepa
White Mosquera **Hicampie MLS
Norgaard Nwaneri Merino
Madueke Trossard Martinelli

An 11 that would thump ManU. Should be competitive against Port Vale.

A hell of a turnaround from just a few months ago. Where Arteta would have to play Raya because Neto couldn’t be trusted to know where the box is. And instead of turning to the likes of Sterling, Butler Oyedeji or Tierney on the wing, we now have the options of Eze and Madueke to call upon to provide cover.

I also think Dowman will start that league cup match.

Liverpool, Citeh, and maybe Chelsea are the only PL teams that would be betting favourites to beat that XI.
