Speaking of their mums, Oscar’s mum liked a post of mine on Facebook a few weeks ago, in response to whether he could win the championship. That was pretty random!
She singled me out at the track last yr and asked for a photo. All because of my shirt. She seems pretty cool!

The commentary was barely noticeable during qualifying in terms of bias (it was poor in terms of insight and accuracy, but thats a separate point).

I'm convinced that some people here watch F1 with the primary motivation of finding things to be upset about with the commentary.

I've learned to just mute it and watch other things on my other monitor and just wait for the last 2 minutes of each session. The less I have to listen to Sky the better.

Made the mistake of checking the F1 Subreddit. Piastri allegedly got a lucky tow, but no one on there can give a consistent answer of who it was?

I prefer the insular ‘**** Sky/Lando/Mclaren v Piastri’ narrative of here tbh 😆
How did he get a tow when he went out 1st on run 1 lol

The question has to be asked.
Is he brave enough to sit next to Max from next year?
Y'know what I think he does. Hadjar's starting to get the attention and praise he deserves and until RBRs golden child Lindeblad starts crashing down the doors they may as well chuck him in the meat grinder.

Not sure how Oscar could have gotten a tow from Lando when Lando was a good 15-20 seconds ahead on the lap.
Hot air rises.
Being a short lap
By the time Oscar started Q lap said air had cooled and dropped to track level.

If I'm Hadjar I'm staying put. The Racing Bulls have had a good run with qualifying lately. Still some work to do on race day. I'd want to see the second Red Bull car become remotely competitive before I contemplate a switch. He'll have suitors in Mercedes and Ferrari if he keeps things up.

Tend too agree.
Has the talent there that if he does what everyone else does and fail in the 2nd seat he's still good enough to be in another seat.(If that makes sense.lol)

100%, 'failing' in the second RBR seat isn't an irredeemable sin these days now there's plenty of case studies.

I reckon he'll back himself.
And like you said he'll have suitors down the track even if it doesn't workout at RB.

The better Hadjar performs, the more enjoyable the ROTY conversations become. I also think Bortoleto has done fantastically well this season.

Toro Rosso/AlphaTauri/RB surprise podium at Monza again? I'm here for that.

All this talk of PIA only getting pole because of a HAD tow is a load of copium. Not only would HAD dirty air slow PIA down in the last sector, ghost lap shows that NOR actually had more straight line speed at the start of the lap anyway, PIA NAILED turn 3 which set him up for the rest of the lap and then got a much better exit on turn 13.

Telemetry also shows NOR lost alot of speed in turn 7

Sky commentary in mourning.

Huge by Oscar. Now let’s see how McLaren F**k him over tomorrow
There's no deliberate strategy to favour one over the other but there's a world of difference in how they treat the drivers when making strategy calls during the race.

With Oscar it's usually "Here's a set of 15 complex interrelated parameters we'd like you to mull over while you're driving at 300 km/h and if you could get back to us in the next few seconds about which way you want to go that would be great".

With Lando it's usually him saying "I need some help here guys, spoon feed me with what I should be doing".

I think it shows the respect the team have for Oscar's intelligence but it's unreasonable to expect him to always make the right call under pressure. His side of the garage should be taking some responsibility here and Stallard, in particular, needs to be more switched on and assertive. For example, in Budapest his message to Oscar should've been "Your race is with Lando not Leclerc. You have enough of a gap to survive an undercut so we're going to pit you the lap after him to cover off his strategy and keep you ahead".

You know it's bad when Ted Kravitz is the voice of reason and questioning McLaren over it
