Between shit like this, booing an injured Harley off the ground in the last derby, actively barracking against us in GF threads and nuking the evidence when we win, etc I will never understand the sentiment. They legitimately want the absolute worst for us as a club and there are Eagles supporters out there who are just OK with that?

I dont know a couple of dorkers, one or two are extended family so I keep away fro this type of thing. But, in general they are people with a chip on their shoulder who didn't feel confortable with the success the Eagles generated. So when the dorkers came along it was a convenient switch.

Realistically we haven't. We were treading water from 2021 up until we turfed Simmo

Yeah, it's too late in the piece for anything to happen THIS year. Plus, I don't really think it's to specifically stick it to the Eagles, they just want a clean first round from Father/Sons, Academies and Free Agent compo RIGHT NOW.

And with Brisbane and Gold Coast ready to cash in yet again on early draft Academy picks the AFL isn't gonna cuck them a couple months before the draft. Next year it may happen, but definitely not this year. Clubs already have their draft picks/points and whatever else loaded and ready to go.

The fact that the stats haven't gone backwards (outside of wins, which can't be ignored but improvement is never linear) when we have put out far less experienced sides even than last year is pretty decent evidence we have improved in some capacity to be honest.

On that note, here is a chart I've been keeping to keep track of how many games every WC player has each year, and their age profiles:





Ideally, for a rebuilding squad, of course you want to expose a lot of footy to your younger players (red and yellow), but you need a strong basis of our senior players to guide them through the season.

Looking at 2024 you'll see that our 30 and over players (Cripps, Darling, McGovern, Yeo, Gaff) combined for 88 games, this year our 30 and over players (Cripps, Kelly, McGovern, Yeo) combined for 47 games.


Our top fifteen games played in 2024 were:

30-32: 4
27-29: 4
24-27: 2
21-23: 2
18-20: 3


Our top fifteen games played in 2025 were:

30-32: 2
27-29: 7
24-27: 0
21-23: 2
18-20: 4



(Note, just noticed a couple of small mistakes, especially in the 2024 chart, but can't be f'ed fixing it right now.

Hird should worry about his own club. Why does it look like half their playing list wants to leave? I can't see a club with internal dynamics like that making finals anytime soon.

Given we were putting sides on the park with between 60 and 70 games of experience per player for most of the year, which is 3 standard deviations under the mean (i.e. we are the youngest 22), declaring that the rebuild isn't finished yet is like thinking you are on to a novel new theory for discovering that s*** smells bad.

We turned over 10 players at the end of both 2022 and 2023, as well as 8 players last year.

Presuming Ryan leaves, we'll only have 11 players left who were on our list in 2022.
