Eh. Was firmly on the Sharp train but no so much anymore. I understand he’s playing a hard role in the seniors but he was last year too where he arguably played better games. Love his inside work but his speed is concerning. If the rule changes around the game continue to reduce stoppages then he becomes far less useful.

2 and 14 for 5,6 from Ess
1- Duursma
5- Cumming
6- Farrow

Instantly improves our transition game big time.

I'm kinda in the same boat. The game is getting faster every year and i think we have a good group of young mids in (Hough, Harley, Hewett, Bo, Gross, Chesser and Hall) who can develop into good contested ball winners. Unfortunately i don't think Essendon will do that deal, as they'll want Duursma.

I would love to draft 2 of the following (Cumming, Farrow, M.Marsh, Lindsay, NHH, Grij, Schubert).

I don't think it will be as easy as some hope, to generate another top 10 pick. Of the available options:

- Gold Coast will be greedy and want to get a top 3 pick to get ahead of bids and grab another top prospect. Already reported they are interested in 2 for 8 and 16. No thanks.

- St Kilda won't want to sell 9 in a shallow draft. Will look at other ways to pay for trades.

- Carlton may offer 11 and 12 (TDK and SOS) for 2. No thanks.

- Essendon is our main hope, but it would likely be 6 and 7 (Draper) for 1 and 15. I would want any deal to include pick 5 rather than 6.

That Gold Coast deal is pretty much bang on what Pick 2/3 got us in 2022 and 2024.

Just hit the draft with 1 and 2.

Disagree. The Suns are likely to be short on points as it stands and if the get a top 3 pick, they likely only get to afford one of Patterson, Uwland, Annables, etc. that would be a big mistake.

2 for 8 and 16 is ridiculous unders.

Lots to happen over trade period but they would have to trade out Flanders or others to get additional points

Hawks 1st and 3rd for ports pick and Davies.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the AFL haven't given stern warnings to Suns that they're not to try and get ahead of bids to get another top talent, lest it make a (further) laughing stock of the AFL and its Academy rules. Guaranteed way to have the AFL shut the tap off next year.

Of course, this would be nothing but an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory in a well administered, transparent league, but here we are.

It seems very quiet on the Davies front all round, Flanders links to STK seem overly optimistic by them considering he was only recently applauded by dimma as 1 of his favourites.
If Flanders was looking for more midfield time he could do worse than WC, guaranteed top mid minutes in our side.
Maybe he is the fish WC have on the hook and VIC media only started smelling something is up. Pick 19 and a future might get it done or Hawks 1st and something back.

Playing finals. Once suns knocked out then it begins.

Think GC know, the gravy train of top 10 NGAs for them ends this year.

It's also probably their last opportunity to get a top 5 non academy kid (if we are stupid enough to do the 8 + 16 deal).

They will be happy to trade future picks into this year, plus trade out players like Flanders and Davies to make up the difference in points.

I would be stoked to trade up to another top 10 pick, just don't think it is a foregone conclusion.

If GC do trade up to once of Richmonds picks, we should bid on their NGAs with pick 2.

totally, that's why I found it weird that STK where going after Flanders so publicly, usually leave the chatter until club has finished for the season.

Trade pick 2 to GC for 8 and 16... then bid on Uwland just for lols

We could literally destroy the Suns entire draft this year by going Uwland, Patterson 1-2 and I’d be very happy with both those players. We also have more draft points than anyone else.

If the club ****s this up and can’t get pick 7 off GCS then changes have to be made.

The first half and a bit of this game was excellent from Grlj. Given the heavy conditions he was clean with the ball, but the most impressive aspect of his performance was his defensive impact, using his elite closing speed to rack up tackles and pull off some excellent disruptive spoils. Unfortunately, he seemed to tweak an ankle mid way through the third term forcing him to limp to the bench. He returned to play, but was visibly limited, and ended up spending most of the fourth quarter playing out of the goal square.

If the Qld clubs don't come to the party, it should probably be

#1 - WCE - Uwland. (GC match)
#2 - WCE - Patterson. (GC wince and match again)
#3 - WCE - Annable. (Brisbane's turn to cringe and match)
#4 - WCE - ????
#5 - WCE - ????

(In fact, if you rate both Uwland and Patterson in the top four, but Uwland first, make it extra cringy for GC by bidding on Patterson first - they have to work out how to match, knowing they're going to get a repeat on the very next pick for the player they really want)

If Dean was worthy of top five, I'd be telling Carlton to back the hell off Chesser right now as well.

Also makes it super cringy for the AFL that the same club makes the top five picks but doesn't get most of them.

This game was a bit of a mess played in wild conditions. Strong wind, driving rain and a waterlogged field all contributed to making this one where all players struggled to execute their skills, and NHH was no exception, but overall this was still a strong performance. His willingness to get stuck in and win the hard ball was pretty impressive given he's typically more of an outside operator, and although his disposal efficiency wasn't great, his hands at ground level with a slippery ball were for the most part clean.

Not a flash game but, out of 29 disposals, I counted only four times that Noah didn't take possession with his first touch. He's got incredible hands.

This kid will THRIVE in Mini's system. Absolute workhorse.

If we hold 1 & 2 GC can’t get ahead of a bid unless we let them so we have a big say in what they do & it would have to be a great deal for us to even consider it.

They could get 3 of Richmond but that just gets eaten up when we bid anyway.
