All in all a pretty good draft by Schoen. I'm not completely sold on Dart having seen him vs. Florida, but he's pretty young and sitting behind Wilson and Jameis he'll have time on his side. I get the sense he's still a little immature - hopefully he grows up quickly.

Carter is a little undersized, but that first step is pretty crazy. Alexander is hopefully a run-stopper. Skattebo is a competitior. Not sure why but I seemed to catch a lot of Arizona games this year and he's a cannonball, almost Bradshaw-like. Mbow in the 5th round was a bit of a steal and should compete early at guard..

The guys on BigBlueView surmised that the FO "drafted tough" and it's hard to disagree. They've definitely shown a preference for physical players.

Lacking in a bit of off/pre-season talk, so....

Dart looks better than I'd hoped. Kid looks tough and composed. But just slide, dude.

O-line looks better, not great, but better.

Run D still shaky.

But it looks like a happy locker room at the moment. Brutal schedule which might make things not so happy. For the moment though, things look a lot more optimistic than they have for a while.

Will likely slog through a replay, but from what I'm reading elsewhere... OL sucked, Wilson sucked, Daboll sucked, run defense sucked. So, same shit, different year.

Eh, week one, so there are hot takes galore to be made. But it would be nice to be 1-0 for a change.

Watching live, it was amazing how we could be almost in it all game, while never being in it at all. We just needed "any" functional offence and we could have had a shot. Commanders were far from good. So disappointing.

There's a lot to be lost by throwing a rookie QB behind a misfunctioning O-Line. I wouldn't want to see Dart start until Thomas is back at the least.

Honestly, we're not contending this year - at best we may have scraped into a wildcard slot. I'd much prefer to play the long game. But another loss and Daboll will be under pressure early doors, so they might roll the dice. And it would be so on-brand of this organisation to screw up a young QB by playing him too soon, when you recruited two experienced QB's.

O-Line definitely wasn't great, but I feel Wilson made them look worse in some instances.

We've got 3 QB's, maybe see if Winston is any better if we want to protect Dart for later?

They've named Dart as QB2 on the depth chart. Yeah, it came from the media department, but I doubt they put that out without checking with Daboll & Schoen. I think they view Winston as a break glass option and a trade piece later in the season.

I'm probably over-reacting to 1 game. They'll likely give Wilson a chance to redeem himself. But he'd want to look a WHOLE lot more competent next game!

Depth charts can change. It seems clear they see Dart as the next soldier up when ready, but if he's not ready and Wilson isn't getting it done, and they want to protect Dart longer, #3 can move to #1 pretty quickly.
