In fairness, Melbourne play a very boring style and don't look to move the ball quick. Time will tell.

Our current small forwards don't have good output but Stevens, Payne, Banch and Konstanty are all first or second year players with us. This move seems impatient, like last year with the Daniel overspend and the future first trade.

He turns 26 later on in the year, so 3 years isn't an obscene offer given free agency has to be at least 2 years.

I just don't see this as a big deal acquisition for people to get animated about.

He is a scrub coming off multiple injuries who last showed anything of note 4 years ago in a position where we already have a handful of players who he isn't an upgrade over. And no other clubs wanted him.
