It’s still a first round pick for a 30 year old. We lost the gamble on the Carlton picks sure, but pick 18 (worst case) and extras for Barrass is still a good trade for our list.

Proof will be in the pudding with the drafted players anyways. The numbers themselves are just chest beating.

West Coast are trash and the Hawks are a well run club.

However, Hawthorn the neighbourhood and surrounds might contain some of the worst humans in Australia.

There's not really a good Perth equivalent. Think an entire area full of Lucius Malfoys, with private school groyper children. Jeff Kennet truly is the human embodiment of that place. Even Brighton is less obnoxious.

This is what Hawks supporters do. They thump their chests and proclaim they are kings of the world when they are winning and I’ll be honest as I live near Waverley park when they are on top the brown and yellow army is strong. Supporters everywhere,packed training grounds, full stadiums in a sea of brown and gold……but then it stops…..and they disappear like a fart in the wind. No more supporters turning up to training, empty stadiums and hardly anyone flying the colours.

You want to talk about bandwagon supporters, they rival Carlton and I’m not even kidding.

Lest we not forget the Melbourne Hawks and Don Scott’s plea at the final hour to stop the merge becasue they were so insolvent. The powerhouse that won all those flags in the 80’s was on its knees and only financially pulled itself out of that hole by pushing pensioners down into the hole instead and taking all their money with their pokie machines.

Let em brag, good luck to them. They’ll go as far as they go and that is that but I never take a Hawks fan seriously, because I don’t know if they’ll still be around when the chips are down the next time.
