Don’t know which way this final will go in the beginning but it would be nice to smash them off the park and if so I’ll be soo excited and happy for everyone, especially Scott and the boys, they’ve done everything right up till this point, Cmon Cats, bring home the chocolates and make the big dance once again!!!!

Cats by 30+, everything that we do well or better than anyone else is countered by the hawks being very mid table at it, or defending it.
So our ball movement and ability to score in transition is the best in the comp by a fair margin, hawks are midtable to low table in defending both, massive tick.
Where we don't do as well is defending transition (but we were elite in the QF at it), which could be exploited, however hawks again aren't very impactful in transition, so it's not a big issue for us there.
We run a very mobile, movement based forwardline, the hawks prefer static setups and can, and have, failed when needing to cover ground, particularly if you push their defenders up the ground and toward the wings.

I simply don't see how the hawks get close, assuming we play somewhere close to our best footy.

I have been popping on extended highlights of Scott team finals, including some painful losses. The strengths you highlight in this current team were all weaknesses of those sides that either got jumped early or overwhelmed late.

Now of course we can still lose. We can even play well and lose. But our game style and personnel suit finals football where it didn't in the earlier Scott era. We just need our forwards to be sharp and our midfield to give them decent supply. We have the necessary weapons to hurt Hawthorn all over the ground.

While people complain about rule changes & things that are lost to the game, I think the worst thing that’s ever happened to the game is that Hawthorn didn’t merge with Melbourne or fold altogether in 1996.
