I think they could potentially satisfy both Melbourne and Essendon if all clubs traded in good faith.

Always has been. 8 + HH probably gets you there . So it’s been within the bounds of what you’ve been offering.

We're likely going to struggle to use all of our current hand (4, 5, draper compensation [6 or end of 1st] 22, 25, Adam Sweid + Hussein El~Achkar). Its not even touching on what we may get for Zac Merret

furthermore, we need to make +4 delistings to the list to accommodate the mid season draftees (3 of which we've re-signed)

We’ve cut Lav/Sheil/Davey and Menzie so now our list spots are about right. Need 1 player out for every player in.

With Draper, Gresham, Setterfield, smart and Hobbs the most likely gone (plus Zac) and whatever happens with Cox concussion issues that leaves enough spots for those picks

These big trades are always multi club now, this is why it will be so difficult to get both Petracca and Merret for Hawks despite having the currency in theory.

Essendon will want to be as high in the draft as possible and Gold Coast will be open to moving as well as potentially WC. The final trade will involve at least one of them.

You cannot rely on Day being fit though. This is the second year in a row he missed the finals series.

Just in the last two years, he missed the first 7 games in 2024, missed finals, played only 6 games this year and missed finals again.

That's why they're looking at Merrett to begin with.
