We were talking about this last night.
So many happy lions supporters, some new some rusted on.
Does 17 years count as rusted on? Some of you lot are 30 years
Surely WE rusted on feel it differently to the members who joined in the last three years. We get a kick when we compare this feeling/era to some of the rubbish games we went to. The comparison feels as good as the win.
And some of the wins back then feel just as memorable. The miracle on grass, the 44 point win to get into finals, the trashed hawks jersey on the road after we beat them the first time in years. The goal celebratory hand shakes. Dan merrett. Brown and bike v the car.
Ahhh the memories.

I’m not a religious man but I’m not sure I haven’t died and gone to heaven. Let me tell you about my last couple of weeks. I’d never been to a Preliminary at the MCG but I got tickets and I saw us beat the Pies. I was lucky enough to get tickets in the ballot for the Grand Final. I saw Greg Champion live at The Punters Club Hotel in Fitzroy on Friday night and yesterday I saw my Lions go back to back. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

They should consult the Footy Gods. They tipped the result early.
Neale playing as sub is the greatest tactical use of that sub role ever. So satisfying that it occurred against Chris Scott too!
So happy to be proven wrong re selecting Neale. Thought it was too good to be true that he was fit enough to play.
Everyone who played deserves such huge praise. Ill just mention a couple.
Levi Ashcroft played such a composed game for an 18 year old. His decision making and skill under pressure was so impressive. It's going to be fascinating to see what sort of player he develops into.
Jaspa Fletcher deserves so much praise, 95% of us thought he'd get sqeezed out of our team by Levi, but he'd be in the top 8 players in our team now. Just such a well rounded footballer. He would have been a worthy Norm smith medallist this year. (Will Ashcroft deserved it but!)
