James Rowbottom is keen for a move back to Victoria...

He would be the perfect defensive midfielder for us. Would balance out our midfield perfectly.
Yes please, has plenty of ex swans mates here

Give them our 2 second rounders for rowbottom and a third rounder

Should we have interest in Aleer? I haven't really watched him or paid much attention to his qualities/short comings as a key defender. GWS are typically good to deal with, and from what Jase said, he was leaving for more opportunities. Is he an upgrade on any of our 5 we're "backing in"???

Imagine the scramble for his signature among the Vic clubs if he became available

His tackling and pressure around the contest is first rate, team first player which is exactly what we need.

A million percent yes. Does the dirty work. Give us our own Charlie Horsewater

What an arrogant, entitled football club Collingwood is. They think they can take our captain for peanuts, but if the boot was on the other foot and we wanted one of their best players. they would be expecting multiple first round picks.

Here's hoping they fall off the perch big time next year with that bunch of "youngsters" in Pendlebury, Howe and Sidebottom.

Pendlebury has been a wonderful player, but he let them down big time in the PF against Brisbane. I was there and watched him waddling around in the pre-game warm up and thought he looked as if he was not fit. He should have put his hand up then but didn't.

There is no way we should be letting Jy go anywhere, for anything less than a high first rounder. And by high, I mean in the range of up to Pick 12.

He is a dual B&F winner and Captain of our club, was taken at Pick 12 in the 2016 Draft and has been and still is at age 27 a very good footballer.

He is contracted and we have no need to let him go. If we are a seller, which we are not, then this is a sellers' market, precisely because we are not a seller; we want to keep him.

There is no world where Jy is worth more than Starcevich. His value is late 1st, early 2nd. You can debate whether we should accept it but for me it comes down to what the plan is without him. I said at the start of the year he might not be best 22 come Round 24 and if we have a side that looks good without him, I would be active in getting this done.

Blues could throw Durdin into Ainsworth deal

By Michael Gleeson

Carlton small forward Corey Durdin could be moving to Port Adelaide as part of a multiple team trade to secure Suns forward [PLAYERCARD]Ben Ainsworth[/PLAYERCARD] for the Blues.

The Power’s pick 29 is likely to be part of the exchange as talks continue.

Several clubs have express interest in Ainsworth’s services.

I get the most clicks are generated by the teams with the biggest supporter bases, but surely there is still room for something close to balance (as I'm typing this I have already seen my mistake!)

This is so similar to * trying to swoop late on Clarko, the general acceptance and assumption of everything needing to happen for the benefit of the big team.

North have no 'need' to trade him, but he is apparently interested in a move and Collingwood are interested.

We are apparently happy for him to stay, but sure, let's move straight to the part were Collingwood dictate how little they are prepared to pay for him and how much of his contract we'll have to pay for the honour of him moving to them.

Next will be how 'unreasonable' we are being when (hopefully!) we don't fold to their expectations.

I would take him. Just turned 24, 194 cm athletic intercept defender. Lots of football ahead of him and would give us more flexibility with where we play Charlie Comben.

Let’s be honest, as a player we don’t rate him and can agree with morris.

But as a 26 year old BNF captain… I reckon there is something in that Tom, certainly would have triggered some compensation if he were out of contract
