Rules of engagement:

To be fair, you want him unhappy if he's not playing. He got injured and Ward came in and took his shot - and I think Mitch mentioned post season that Cam didn't feel comfortable in his hand when he did come back. He's shown enough that he's capable of being a regular starter for a top 4 team.

I think it's because Mackenzie still has a relatively unknown ceiling of how good he will be. I expect he will become a great player, but you never know in footy.

Zerrett on the otherhand is an established A grade talent and immediately makes us better & Humphreys is ahead development wise imo, over Mackenzie and probs has a similar ceiling estimate.

We are in our Premiership Window now and will be for at least the next 5 years.
We are One Gun experienced midfielder away from being flag favorites along with Brisbane.

When a player of this quality wants out and comes knocking on your door, you take that opportunity to make it happen and get it done.

We are super professional at what we do, we are getting this done and so we should.

The vast majority of posters in here aren't keen at all to consider moving on Mackenzie just to acquire Merrett.

There wouldn't be any 'deep breaths' happening. The number of posts in this thread will double over the next two weeks with everybody saying we stuffed the whole thing and overpaid. And rightly so.
