This thread is becoming increasingly popular, and to keep some sort of order, we will have some….

Rules of engagement:

1. Bring valid news or links to Twitter posts from notable sources. Don’t post screenshots or “some bloke just said on SEN” or what some “trade whisperer” has posted on a Facebook page.

2. Ignore what other team boards are putting up as trade offers. Don’t quote or bring them here either.

3. Don’t post “buckle up” for the lols.

4. If you can’t say anything nice about Worpel or CJ, don’t say anything at all. The continued slaps and backhanders are just going to be deleted.

I think we have done well to have ongoing return for depth players. In some ways its annoying to put in the significant amount of development and correcting issues in late picks but at least we are turning them into something on the out. We just have a nack of spending 6-8 years of development on getting a 3rd/4th round pick and I just think that such an undervalued look on starting AFL talent. Don't value top 10 picks, don't value starting AFL players. Odd world the AFL trade time
I don't think we draft and develop players to try and get a good pick for them. We try and draft premiership players; if we don't think they will be, we let them move on and grab what we can, while looking to the next crop.

According to trade radio we have officially launched our second offer for Merrett
IMO this will be accepted as the Dons already have made out like bandits and they are just seeing what additional steak knives we will throw in.

JUH at GC will be a disaster, no doubt. What happened to his 850k contract? They're saying he's on 250k now.

Worth the risk at that price.

He's a huge talent. I'm hoping a change of scenery will help but the Gold Coast isn't exactly where young men go to settle down .

Wish CJ and Serong the very best in their careers at their new clubs.
But, with Day coming back, Dear, Finn, Harry, Reeves, Blanck , Mackenzie, BMAc waiting for opportunity and Mraz McCabe and Cody yet to debut, they were looking for better opportunities at other clubs and read the writing on the wall. They weren't pushed out. With hopefully limited amount of injuries, there's going to be a squeeze on as it is.

2nd offer apparently on the table for Merrett. No details yet.

Good we traded pick 9 for 10 so we have the figleaf of an excuse for that final offer deadline fiasco.

Once dust settles HFC should compare their trading strategies & outcome with how other best run clubs trade/outcome and see if we can do better. Should we be investing in renting out more mouthpieces in media, now it wouldn't matter if we ignored media narratives but seems like we don't.

Merrett has 5/6 years of quality football left barring injuries but that can happen to anyone. Anyone that thinks otherwise is kidding themselves . Ignore the picks and the players we let go to get them, the club was happy to deal all all of them so it explains where they were rated internally.

Depth moving forward - i'd take mraz over serong, blanck over frost, mckenzie over worpel, butler over cj. We are completely fine.

Blanck, Mraz and Mcabe for those out of the seniors

And if you list our back 6 as something like
Battle Barrass Hardwick
Impey Sicily Scrimshaw

Then you still have Weddle has KPD coverage if needed from the starting 23, so I think we can cover KPD depth if needed between Box HIll and Weddle.

Yeah, I think you'll find we actually do ok.

Whats our KPD depth after losing Frosty and Serong? I assume we're banking on the back 6 to cover if someone goes down and showing faith in McCabe to develop.
Frosty and Serong played 2 games between them last year. Our starting 23 still contains 5 tall defenders in TB, JB, Sic, Scrim and Weds. 2 to 3 of them would have to go down before we even look at the depth.
Which is Blankie, Mraz and McCabe.
Still have more than enough KPD's...

Edit: Mraz to crazy - fu#$@n autocorrect.

The whole thing is concocted stage managed garbage.
Think Pro-Wrestling level.
Media means nothing, 'leading the race' etc is laughable.
