I will be disappointed if Stevens does not get another contract. We will be split across the supporter base as to which player gets what I suspect is the one remaining list spot.Yeah, if I were considering another year of low cost AFL ($300k, say) vs ordinary wage slavery, I know which I would pick
I think the answer is we are not sure. It depends on how the first year he was contracted and chose to stay in Ireland during the Covid year is treated ie is it counted as a year on Rookie list or can he spend another year on it?I know Oisin Mullin is contracted. I thought his Rookie list time was up and he had to be upgraded. Does anyone know if this is correct? Thanks.
If it were my decision I'd want to keep him as well.I will be disappointed if Stevens does not get another contract. We will be split across the supporter base as to which player gets what I suspect is the one remaining list spot.
I just think at his age there is a longer career and potentially more upside.

He's just not a Chris Scott footballer to me.I will be disappointed if Stevens does not get another contract. We will be split across the supporter base as to which player gets what I suspect is the one remaining list spot.

If Clohesy stays then Stevens would need to go as both Clohesy and Mullin (I think) would need to be promoted to main list and we probably draft 2.If it were my decision I'd want to keep him as well.
I think we still need to get rid of a couple though, so I'd delist Wiltshire and Bews ahead of him. If we wanted to free up another spot after that though, I'm not sure who else would go given Clohesy and Pike are both rookies. It would probably have to be Stevens.
1. Kolo wasn't fit.
2. Stewart and Kolo are not his competition.
3. He is the only small defender not in the team on the list that IS AFL standard.
Bailey should have kicked on Clark playing in defence in the GF. You reckon he has that much influence on Bews? I know he wouldn't have.
Should be retained.

I also thought he was upgraded way back before he was required to be upgraded.I know Oisin Mullin is contracted. I thought his Rookie list time was up and he had to be upgraded. Does anyone know if this is correct? Thanks.

This. Its a real shame to see his career wind up this way, however he was crucial in a Premiership year and i'll never forget his involvement in this moment from the 2022 QF.
What...We might have lost by less than 47 with Cameron (who was shit most of the season) running wild, Bailey causing havoc and Lohmann got his lick of the icecream as well. 9.8 between 3 small/med fwds says a lot about how our guys defended them. Yeah what a shame that would have been. Still being in the GF in the last quarter would have been nice.Lol. You're hitting all the classics.
1) Blame a whipping boy for not stopping a player he was rarely on.
2) Declare Bews would've played to a level he hasn't played in years (there's a reason he wasn't playing and he wasn't getting shutdown roles when he did).
3) Declare that you "know" that things would've been better if they'd done what you said.
If only Scotty had someone at your level next to him in the box![]()
I will be annoyed if Bews gets let go.
We don't have AFL standard depth in his position.
Would delist every other OOC player left before him.
Sounds like the club will just take 19 and Mellor at the draft, and probably end up picking Rongdit and Holmes in the rookie draft.I wonder if we can move someone like Stanley to the rookie list. We're so tight for list spots.
It's also impossible to see us bringing in a depth ruck unless it's via the rookie draft with no spaces on the list.

Essentially it's:
In: Worpel, Mullin, 19, Mellor, Rongdit (R), Holmes (R).
Out: Duncan, Guthrie, Bews, Wiltshire, Clohesy (R), Retschko (R), Ivisic (R).
If they're doing that, then they probably don't rate this draft. KMF for instance would be an easy delist and re-rookie if we wanted to take the extra pick, but I doubt we do it.
Pike probably stays for mine. I know he looks a bit spuddy, and it's unfortunate that the least talented of our young rucks is the only one who can stay healthy, but it's pretty futile picking him at 19 and then cutting him a year later.
I could see him just hanging around on the list for 5 years as the developing Darcy Fort level ruckman, pending Conway and Edwards health.
The ruck position just follows different rules to other below standard players on the list, and the best ability is availability after all.
Would there not be at least 2 rookie spaces left by Retschko and Ivisic who are now off the list?I wonder if we can move someone like Stanley to the rookie list. We're so tight for list spots.

To open up a spot on the senior list - allow for an extra draft pick or keep Ted type thingWould there not be at least 2 rookie spaces left by Retschko and Ivisic who are now off the list?
Why would you move Stanley to the rookie list?
Stevens, Wiltshire and Ted gone I'm guessing

Coming to a stadium near you, the never ending farewell tour continues.
I like Bews but I think he is cooked. His ceiling next year would be 1 or 2 games.Sanity prevails.
