The Club thanks Ted Clohesy for his contribution to the Cats, with the midfielder told he would not be offered a contract for 2026.
No issue with this. AFL standard mids make an impact early. Ted coming from a long way back and progressing slowly.

I just hope we are looking to rookie KMF because we still think he has a chance to make it, and not just because we are doing it to save face a bit or because of minimum salary cap amount.

In the end we prob just needed to open up one space for a draftee.

If we just delist him we would have to pay out his contract so may as well take him back as a rookie if he is still there.

Hey cats fans, what's the go with big boy George Stevens? Is he just not suited to the modern game, a bad runner or something? Cheers
Going to be re-rookied assuming someone else doesn't grab him, got a Brownlow vote on debut so he has talent and showed it in the VFL, but probably needs another big AFL pre-season before you see what his level is.

Needs a tank, great contested played but he can look slow.

Don't think anybody had the KMF delisting and re-rookie on the bingo card... Does that change anything for us with list spots?

Not that surprising. Retschko had shown more than KMF and he got the chop. Frees up a spot on the senior list for Mellor so we don't get caught out like the Saints did with Hofmann if he slides.

He played a cracking debut against a lower level midfield in Richmond and got first hands on the ball as well as hit targets with his great kicking. But his running capability does seem to be a bit of an issue. Hopefully this can be trained over time. I believe we are commited to taking him back as a rookie.

Stevens, Clohesy, Wiltshire, KMF and Pike all need delisting.

I thought Wiltshire was a lock to get delisted but the one thing he does have over all the others that have been cut is a bit of speed / athleticism.

We are kind of at the point where it is pointless to even draft a Stevens or KMF or Phoenix Foster the other year. There is just no way they are playing modern footy under CS.

Wiltshire showed glimpses of real ability. You'd think they'd have wanted to see more than that by now since he's just turned 23. But maybe they're going to give him another year.

Surely if he was getting delisted they'd have announced it today.

Honestly keeping Wiltshire probably surprises me less than keeping Bews. And Pike is the ultimate survivor!

Not necessarily a bad runner but he does look slow over those first 2 or 3 steps, but once he's moving then he seems to cover the ground well and he did improve this year in getting from contest to contest

He had a real good debut against Richmond, and even though they're an experienced midfield they are a bit slower by foot

A week later against a younger GWS midfield he struggled a bit more

Acceleration looks to be the biggest hurdle he needs to get over

He has a tank, actually ran a good time trial even his junior year.

Issue is leg speed. Is as slow as a. Arthritic grandmother. Not something you can change.

Personally I'm surprised with the Clohesy delisting. I thought he was the best player outside the 22. He's as good as Stevens but more versatile and more speed. He's also a tackling machine. He was doing everything right to get a game. I don't get it. Maybe he pissed off the wrong person. I guarantee he will be picked up by another club.

It's the right move.

He's got all the same issues with his disposal that caused Parfitt to be delisted. And he didn't have Parfitt's defensive mindset and focus that could make him a useful defensive mid role player.

He's a see ball get ball player who isn't damaging when he gets the ball and isn't much use when he doesn't have the ball.

If we're keeping Wiltshire, think I would have rather it be him delisted & re-rookied compared with the contracted KMF

Pike potentially being retained doesn't surprise me at this stage - if we had signed Marshall or Conway had got through this season & was right for day 1 of pre-season, then Pike would be excess to needs

But as it stands he offers something that our other developing rucks don't - durability. He can assist Edwards while he continues to develop as he'd hopefully be the one carrying the ruck load in the VFL next year

I'm not sure what the thoughts are for Molier long term - he didn't seem to do much ruck work this past year, so not sure if we bring that in next year or he keeps going as a tall forward option

Unless we're re-signing Wiltshire

Not sure anyone had that on their bingo card

I did suggest delisting kmf but I didn't think they actually would. Will Wiltshire survive?
I would have sent stanley to the rookie list because i think hes less likely to be poached, i worry another club will pick stevens up at the back end of the ND.

The article on the Cats website says "committed to THEM" when talking about Stevens and KMF.

Clohesy will get picked up by someone, wonder if someone grabs Stevens before we do.

West Coast will take clohesy surely.
