Sounds like that would be a big reach. Cam Guthrie was a very good player by 2016 but we still only rookie listed Zach.
Maybe we look to trade our first into next year if someone's desperate come draft night and take Mellor and Holmes late.
Don't get me wrong, I've wanted to take him all year and I'd back the club to get the best out of him.Would it be that much of a reach? The draft really thins out in quality around our pick. You wouldn’t be drafting him on current output but rather what he might project to get to..
I’d have a few ahead of him at that pick but can see the club backing our development program in to get the best out of him. He’s a late developer so I reckon his scope for improvement is far higher than many in the draft.

I just think it would be an enormous reach. Not quite like taking Zach Guthrie in the first round, but pretty close.
The simple solution really is Wiltshire, and then trying to get Hunter at the back end of the draft. If someone takes him within the top 30, good luck to them IMO.

I'd take that for sure. We really must hate this draft if we're keeping Wiltshire.I agree. Can’t really see Wiltshire being a long term prospect. I’d prefer to delist him and take 3 players in the ND. A mix of Taylor, Holmes and Mellor would be a good outcome.
So currently we have 2 draft spots, with no delisting news about Wiltshire or Bews, let’s assume they are retained:
Out : Duncan, Guthrie, KMF (R), Stevens(R),
In : Worpel, Rd1, Rd2, Mullin (upgrade)
And one spot free on the rookie list.
I think he's shown a great deal more than Jamaine Jones did for us though that's a low bar. That feels a very West Coast move. He'll probably play a bunch of games and look ok at times. But ultimately he's not going to make it in any real way. Feels like a very Jamaine Jones type pickup.
Wiltshire showed glimpses of real ability. You'd think they'd have wanted to see more than that by now since he's just turned 23. But maybe they're going to give him another year.
Surely if he was getting delisted they'd have announced it today.
Honestly keeping Wiltshire probably surprises me less than keeping Bews. And Pike is the ultimate survivor!
Can we delist Wiltshire post draft? Wait to see how the draft falls before making a decision on him?

Do we have a summary of what we have done …. ? Something like ..
Delisted 2 Rookies ..Retchco and Ivisic ….
Delisted 1 rookie B Clohesy
Delisted from the main list Guthrie , Duncan
Delisted from the main list GStevens , KMF with a commitment to redraft as rookies ..
So it looks like they have delisted Patrick Retchco and X Ivisic to make room for the redrafting of GS and KMF..
So with the addition of Worpell … we have 2 draft spots available for the draft ?
Id agree that Im a little surprised that Wiltshire has been kept over a couple of others. Id have thought his spot on the list is not secure considering the type of player he is
We have 1 cat b spot free (ted)
4 Senior list spots free but really 3 as we are elevating mullin.
1 cat a rookie spot (kmf stevens pike) unless someone gets poached.
2 and picks and mellor likely unless mellor gets through the ND and we can cat b him.
This is assuming we dont move bews or stanley to rookie list.
I did hear his mum say their whole family are notoriously late developers, so why not I say.Have a feeling we may reach a bit for Hunter Holmes with our first pick. Bank on him following a similar development pathway to Max.

. Scott was an excellent AFL player who won a B&F but he was no Harry!!I don't think that's quite right. Unless I've missed something I'm pretty sure it's:
2 senior list spots free (Duncan, Guthrie, KMF and Stevens out with Worpel and Mullin in).
2 cat A rookie list spots free but committed to selecting Stevens and KMF (Ivisic and Retschko out)
2 Cat B rookie spots free (Mullin and Clohesy)
People are entitled to their opinions but i can't understand the comparison.I don't see a big difference really. Jones played 7 full games. Ted played 12 games but 9 of those were as sub.
Both had some ability but ultimately had weaknesses that suggested they're not quite good enough.
He isn’t suited to the modern game his god given traits and his style.Personally I'm surprised with the Clohesy delisting. I thought he was the best player outside the 22. He's as good as Stevens but more versatile and more speed. He's also a tackling machine. He was doing everything right to get a game. I don't get it. Maybe he pissed off the wrong person. I guarantee he will be picked up by another club.
Lacks versatility to play forward? He isn’t suited to the modern game his god given traits and his style.
Poor athletic profile, unable to spread well offensively or defensively, and lacks any versatility to play defense or forward.
I’m more interested in filling it with gun kids than list clogging old farts. With Duncan and now Clohesy gone, the reserves looks thin for AFL-capable midfielders. Club surely looking at mature-age or delisted players?
What would Clohesy offer as a forward in your opinion??Lacks versatility to play forward?
I think if rumours of west coast offering him a contract are true then we probably just delisted him rather try a trade with west coast knowing he'd get walked to the PSD anyway.Personally I'm surprised with the Clohesy delisting. Jones played over 50 AFL games, give him some respect.People are entitled to their opinions but i can't understand the comparison.
Clohesy came 2nd in the vfl bnf and made the vfl AA squad in his first year. Rumour on the west coast board was that eagles offered him a 3 year contract.
Jamaine Jones claim to fame was that he laid an above average number of tackles while kicking a below average nunber of goals.
The only way i can understand delisting Ted ahead of Wiltshire is if Ted asked to be so he could go west.
He's very strong overhead and is a good kick for goal. I agree he hasn't got the physical profile for midfield at AFL level but you could see him carving out 30-50 games at a bottom 4 club as a medium forward. What would Clohesy offer as a forward in your opinion??
He's behind Atkins, Knevitt, Clark and probably Stevens as a midfielder and he's not getting a game as a forward ahead of Henry. Needed to take another step this year and become an absolute ball magnet at VFL level and it didn't happen.Personally I'm surprised with the Clohesy delisting. I thought he was the best player outside the 22. He's as good as Stevens but more versatile and more speed. He's also a tackling machine. He was doing everything right to get a game. I don't get it.
