I wonder if we can prise Butters by cashing in on Sellwood’s potential? Obviously we would need to throw in steak knives (McNeill?), but we need possess such an all-in approach.

Would rather trade him for a real star like Zak Jones or May tbh

Melbourne apparently looking to move out pick 8 for a future pick and a pick in the 20's.

Thought they had a hard on for Dovaston around that pick.
They're keen on Dovaston but I think the play is net a third first rounder next year and picking up Pickett. It doesnt look likely Pickett will be there at what is currently 37.

When I was at school and mum didn’t give me any money I used to wait for the lunch bell to go and sprint to the canteen line. People would be piling in and I’d offer the spot in front of me for 20c - repeated said spot sale until I had $2.40 for a sausage roll and Portello. Point being - when the whips are cracking and the bell has rung, people/clubs will pay overs to get to the front - I’d love to see us just keep extracting micro value over and over by allowing a club to move up one or two spots up into our pick maybe you move back a spot and get a 2026 second rounder off Freo, then move back another spot and get a 2027 second rounder off GWS, so on and so forth until we have a sausage roll and a Portello.
Was it just a sausage roll or the truly elite sausage roll in a roll?
Portello is clearly a very wise selection

Next potential superstar on the way for sure with #53!

After bids that pick will come into roughly "Joel Freijah" territory

only two reasons for doing this would be either they think Darcy is going to slip through to a rookie spot and they have there eye on someone they don’t think will be there with there last pick or they think they won’t have enough points for him this year and don’t want to go into deficit for next year

I believe we only have 3 list spots total between main and rookie lists. So if we took someone with 53, that's all 3 spots gone and therefore no Darcy rookie spot. I imagine we plan on bundling picks to move up the order

Either that or new information has come in that a bid will be placed on Darcy that requires a pick with points attached. Either way we won't require a fourth rounder next year and Eagles wouldn't have used 53 this year.

What’s in it for the Weagles? Just building up a few brownie points with a pick they probably didn’t need?

Has there been any discussion on the dogs picking up Ted Chlosey? I reckon he could be a bit of a dirty worker in the dogs midfield, I get real [PLAYERCARD]Liam Picken[/PLAYERCARD] vibes from the young bloke. A little small but it isn't always the size of the dog in the fight.

I think he would be a canny pick up

They wouldn't have been able to take it into the draft as they don't have enough open spots. Pick 53 would've been Disolved, atleast now they have an asset to play with however small it is.

If we want to use our decent draft picks and match Darcy, we don't have enough list spots to pick up a DFA.

This could also be an indication that we have confidence that we can trade our 1st rounder into next year for a Butters raid and the extra late pick this year still gives us our 3 picks for this year.
