If there is one thing that has been pretty apparent among the Dem base its that they're crying out for leaders willing to fight █████ and his agenda rather than just lay down and take it. Dem leadership this year have basically thrown their hands up and said what can we do, Repubs control both bodies of congress. They finally, for the first time in █████'s 2nd term, had some leverage, an issue perfectly exposing just how little █████ cares about the people who voted him in... and their move is to cave just when the pressure on him is reaching its peak.

Embarrassing stuff.

But thats ridiculous thinking. They were clearly winning publically and the whole point was to keep health care benefits which are very popular. A couple of them who voted with republicams clearly saw it this way too not long ago.

I think bribery is involved. Either through a carrot or a stick. Its just doesnt add up. The media needs to do its job and push for an answer. It simply doesnt add up.

Like many Australians I’ve visited the US many times for work and leisure.

But how working class Americans can look at this stuff and their elected leader acting like a Sun King with their history, heritage and assets and not demand his impeachment shows to me just how little I understand them.

You need to understand that Americans are raised to revere two things: God and America. This is true across the racial spectrum.

It takes a lot of effort to put public good ahead of God or "America". So any time anyone proposes something that will be a public good, it's very easy to convince them not to be so brave because it's against God (just find a passage of the Bible, there are passages both ways on practically every topic) or "America" (this could mean socialism - which means anything other than unfettered capitalism, or the Constitution, or anything the founding fathers said.)

This interior garishness █████ is putting into the White House is a classic mix of America and God. It's garishness posing as prosperity and exaltation.
