Autopsy David Koch and the Vanillarization of Port Adelaide (by tribey)

Hey if Kockie can chair us from Sydney, surely it's not much more of a stretch for Jay to do it from London, between cutting a few ribbons and flogging our wines and Tim Tams..?

Unfortunately Darren C has committed to continuing with Sinner, so won't have the time.

Unfortunately our constitution says;

Mike Rann is back in SA. He'd probably love to kick Olsen's arse again.
Mike Rann would know less about footy than Koch. At least Koch can lay claim to his father playing for the club.

But he knows politics and that's what you need with AFL House. As Premier he trusted his Ministers to make decisions, so he would trust those around him.

Malinauskas is the bloke that in the long run should be our chairman - where we has plenty of clout at the AFL already.

Earlier this year I wrote that is probably 10 years away, but if the near year long algal bloom is still a big problem in March, and the opposition hammer the government about the ambulance ramping scare campaign in 2022 and failure to deliver on that promise, then he might be a possibility a few months after the March 2030 election.

The Doncic trade was the worst trade in any sport, ever.
Port has been a disappointment but it still doesn't come close.
For the non-NBA fans, imagine Zak Butters publicly came out and confirmed his intention to sign a 5 year contract with the PAFC, and then you woke up one morning to the news that we'd traded him completely without warning for Jeremy McGovern and a future second rounder.

And to be honest, even that doesn't fully give an appreciation for how bad it was, because one star player on a 5 man NBA team has so much more impact on his team's fortunes than one star player on an 18 man AFL team.

Then the club leaks to the media that Butters was fat and lazy, over and over.
Ben Rutten then proceeds to front the media and says we're set up to win now and into the future and that the fans will understand the decision when we win a premiership.
Our CEO does an interview where he says Butters doesn't have the work ethic to be one of the all-time greats.
Then our media team removes all trace of him ever existing in their highlight reels.
Fans are ejected from Adelaide Oval after holding up signs that say "Fire Rutten" and mouthing it to the camera during broadcasts.
The club then increases season ticket costs for the following season.

Yeah, whatever the Mavs are doing now to listen to the fans has only come after the whole thing as been burned to the ground and they pissed on the ashes.

At least he's someone who knows how to listen to the plebs.

Season 3 Lol GIF by The Office

Koch stepping down now that we've cleared our debt makes sense. Just gotta hope it's not a Cardone type that takes his place. But my god, what a day this has been

Darren Cahill taking over as Chairman and Butters signing on would be as good as it gets right now.

Someone needs to get in Koch's ear and convince him that transferring the club back to member control would leave a legacy for life (which it actually would).
