great 4 episodes. That last 30min of ep 4 was amazing. Like a season finale. Can’t wait to Boxing Day

Bloody hell, you trying to get someone killed?drinking game: do a shot when the demogorgon does the splayed petal growl thing.
Yeh landing the plane on 5 seasons is gonna be tough. The delicate balance between genuine peril and outcome, building and ending the saga. The first 4 episodes haven’t lost a step from season 4.
Let’s hope they can keep it going.

Ive got a fairly ridiculous nit pick (that honestly might not even be a nit pick and has not impacted my enjoyment of the show at all). Ill spoiler it just in case
So in ep 4 of this season we see Max return to Henrys school days and he interacts with Wills mum, Steves dad and others. In this scene we can assume he is like 14 at least? Give or take and it must be in the mid 1950s based on the clothing etc.
A seperate thing i saw (not a great source) showed that Henry kills his family in 1959.
The Hawkins lab massacre is 1979 but Henry isnt killed in that (i think).
Season 1 is set in 1983 and were now in 1987.
So assuming Henry was 14(ish) in say 1955 he is now 46(ish) (roughly the same age as the parents) and "died" or was Vecnafied at around 40?
He looks ****ing GREAT compared to literally every other person on this show. He looks younger than Robin and Steve.
Again not really a nit pick and maybe he didnt age at some point? Anyone feel free to check my math here too, its not a strong suit
On a side note, isn't it wild to think that someone who was in highschool in the 50's is a regular adult in the 80's. Like I know that's how time works, but those periods just seem so intensely disconnected to me it's hard to comprehend that many people will have traversed the same period.Ive got a fairly ridiculous nit pick (that honestly might not even be a nit pick and has not impacted my enjoyment of the show at all). I know how you feel about the military. As soon as I see a bunch of soldiers in this TV show I say to myself, "Well, they're not going to last long."Stranger things has become a joke.
The good guys can not be killed.
Soldiers and no name characters constantly murdered at whim. But when main characters are in the exact same situation, they mostly just get pushed aside.
Its destroyed all the emotional investment in this show. Cos the showrunners have been protecting the actors wages at the expense of telling a good story. The end of season 5 was ridiculous. So many of the mains were in a seemingly unescapable position and then for some reason Veccna just cant be bothered to finish them or does seemingly finish one off but she just happens to go into a coma to keep her story going. And the only death was the non main character Eddie who goes kills himself when he wasnt even in jeopardy and it made no sense for him to do what he did. They are carrying this ridiculousness all the way to the end. Joyce charging at the demogorran and Vecna and no consequence. Yeah ok.
Not even sure if I can finish this. Feel like Im being used.

I bet someone will die, probably number Eight, since she's not as important as the others. I also think Eleven might die or perhaps become stuck in the Upside Down or something like that.
Also, I don't know why they have that sound/frequency weapon being used every single time Eleven is near the military (they even use it when they have no idea she's there), but when Henry appears, those weapons are nowhere to be seen. I wanted to know if it affects him.
I feel that season 4 was a much better season. This is still watchable though.
Yes I could sit there and poke holes through all the story line but I really don't see the benefit of doing that.
Doesnt change the fact it makes the show bad. It was bad when it happened in the eighties. Its even worse now given tv story telling has improved dramatically since then. It really stands out now.The show is a deliberate only half serious pisstake of cheesy 80s movies and tv shows.
It’s not supposed to be a serious drama. The plot armour and invincibility of the main characters is part of that.
It’s kids saving the world.
This is a poor argument constantly used to defend bad fantasy and sci fi tv. Nothing wrong with fantasy things and concepts existing in shows. But its when the humans act unrealistically to their presence and the threat they impose to them that it makes it hard to get invested in. And when the logic of the science/magic in the world is inconsistently applied it takes away from the story telling cos it gives writers an easy out when the main characters look to be in serious strife. I.e. just invent a new fantasy concept that saves the day regardless of whether it was consistent with what came before. It kills the intrigue.Annoying when the fictional TV show about monsters, parallel dimensions and children with telekinetic abilities requires you to suspend disbelief.
