they'd have to get it down to < 50 and have a dash in the last 4-5. just enough time to win with a slog, and not a lot to block out if a wicket goes.

If it was England they would be going for the win Bazball style but they probably would have been bowled out going for it.

I think it's time for PhatBoy and all the other Windies supporters to break out the Red Stripe beers to celebrate a famous draw.

Greaves a chance to get a double ton before stumps as well.

Good contest mate.

I’ve been out in the middle channeling The Judge - retired on 52* (for Boony) with almost all my runs coming from square cuts - and may have to bat again when the later wickets fall, and am rapt with this result. Bad luck mate, a lot of things went the Windies way with injuries and some decisions but gutsy as all hell from Hope, Greaves and Roach.

Very proud.

That's a remarkable effort to save the match, well done Windies. Totally thanks to Greaves, Hope and the unlikely batting hero Kemar Roach.

Hopefully that effort delivers them some much needed confidence as a side.

A great effort from the Windies to earn a draw from the position they were in yesterday when it looked like we had a certain win.

NZ losing two of our pace bowlers in Henry and Smith didn't help along with a few missed chances and blowing all of our reviews.

I could claim a moral victory even if we didn't get an actual one but I don't think we even deserved that, a draw is a fitting result.

Biggest problem we have at the moment is that the logical change to the team - apart from Athanaze although I would like us to persist with him - is Hodge in for Chase but it presents an issue when he’s the captain.
The rest I don’t have an issue with right now
I wouldn't be to worried about Chase. Ball wasn't doing much for spinners and reckon he could cone good with the bay.

Speaking of spinners could Warrican come in for Layne? Not sure about Laybe

Another one that should have been out, this umpire looks like he has put money on a draw.

That was hilarious to watch as someone that was supporting England but it wasn't so funny for the Aussie supporters.

There was also Lyon missing what should have been a simple run out.
No it was still funny for Aussies, especially when we went on to retain the Ashes anyway.

England should fire Baz and fly out the West Indies team to give them coaching on resilience, to quote Greaves and how to actually win a Test in Australia.

The thought occurred to me today that the last 3 double centuries by West Indians by my estimation have been scored by all-rounders:

Jason Holder who has won tests with both bat and ball

Kyle Mayers who won a test against England with the ball and his famous debut with the bat

Greaves who is yet to take a big bag with the ball - though he has been handy - who has now saved a match against the Kiwis.

Suddenly this series which I basically looked at as a 3-0 loss where I hoped we might get some batting practice and break some more century droughts for players, is jussssssst a sneaky chance for an upset series draw or win, given how many injuries NZ have.

Edit: I stand corrected courtesy of corbies post above that I didn’t see. Chanderpaul’s effort in Zimbabwe that I’d forgotten about - ironically in the company of another century from Holder himself from memory

NZ winning the toss and choosing to bowl first in the 2nd test in Wellington.

They have made 5 changes with Young, Blundell, Bracewell, Smith and Henry replaced by Mitchell, Hay, Phillips, Tickner and Rae.

The Windies have made 3 changes with Chanderpaul, Athanaze and Layne replaced by King, Hodge and Phillip.
