Lachie McKirdy reporting that Cootee has a hip issue :sadv1:

"While Cootee trained during his first week at the club, the 22-year-old was on crutches during Wednesday’s session in Newcastle. He is dealing with hip soreness and is scheduled to undergo scans later in the week to figure out the issue.

However, he and Mills ensured they were still working on their ball skills, dragging Brett Kirk into a handball drill while Cootee was sitting on a chair."

It'd be nice to see him make an early debut, but in reality, he has plenty of time on his side. Take your time and get it right.

Full of enthusiasm and worked too hard, just like Dattoli last year. Easy to understand as both were/are a decent chance to debut.

Someone on here will say he was tackled by Mills

Errol is such a brilliant football player. But he doesn't look like much of a wrestler, based only on that tiny snippet.

Weren't the Calton supporters saying Curnow is a lazy player. He looks like he is putting in the work during pre-season training.

You don't get to where Curnow has been (2 time Coleman medalist) by being lazy on the training track.

Their complaints with Curnow are his lack of intensity with defensive efforts.

It will be very interesting to see how he attacks his role in his new team with new coaches etc etc. Hopefully he will find it all energising. So far he seems to be doing everything he should be.

He's bound to start off on a high, the key is to keep him at that level because regardless of new found motivation at a new club, after a few rounds that'll wear off and going through the motions at thew swans will just become the new norm. His fortunes will come down to the teams ability to get back to playing at a high standard, because that'll mean Curnow being fed the ball, kicking goals, and rolling win after win - For a forward that's what keeps motivation at a high. If our connection across the ground remains as poor as it was this year, we'll flounder and so will Curnow. Massive pressure on Cox to get a us ticking again.

A fit Sir Dane is still (based on exposed form) a superior player to Serong and Snell.

Of course, time catches up with everyone - Rampe is past his best, whilst the other two are still young .... but Serong and Snell are both yet to prove themselves AFL calibre players.

Plenty here willing to pension off Rampe & rely on "maybes".
