Nobody is suggesting cricket will take over as the national sport, but being able to compete at associate level consistently would be a great next step, particularly if it is on the back of a solid domestic comp.
The associates are really being devalued if European cricket is being considered. It's second or third grade stuff, at best, mostly played by immigrant communities.

At the very least a great opportunity for state 2nd xi and minor county players with italian grandparents to get an international jersey.
Alot of Italian players that currently play with Australia in that first Italian team: Joe Burns, Harry Manenti, Ben Manenti, Spencer Johnson (not in the squad), Justin Mosca (who plays grade cricket in NSW), Grant Stewart (born in Kalgoorlie but played NSW grade cricket)

I'm not surprised. If I actually played cricket at all id be eligible for Italy.

Even getting 11 decent cricketers with Italian heritage would be competitive.

One of the Italian players I noticed is on the crisp of English selection in white ball cricket- Emilio Guy who has an Italian mother. He plays for Durham and was born in England and is eligible to represent Italy.

If the Dutch chase this target of Italys according to my calculations inside 85 balls or less, its Jersey and Holland who will qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Very detailed 4.5 hour podcast on the business of the IPL.

If you've ever wanted to hear Americans explaining the significance of Yuvraj Singh hitting six sixes in an over, this is for you.

(It's actually a pretty good listen, if this is your thing.)

Nothing controversial at all. Tactical mind games all round.
Im surprised more teams dont do it, eg tactically not get a batter out.

If your batting on a batters wicket and struggling at a run-a-ball, its a no brainer. The aim should be to give the power hitter the right balance of allocation of overs to hit out.

eg it would be foolish to have a Tim David in the shed, when you have a nudger or nurdler struggling to go over 140 strike rate on a flat wicket.

Net worth of T20 leagues around the world and I reckon thats a reflection of the standard in terms of viewing standards.

I did a bit of digging on this and you'll be shocked to find out it is complete bollocks.

It comes from a marketing consultancy called Brand Finance, who put out a report estimating the value of the brands of the IPL franchises. Not the league itself. Also not the value of the league - ie what you could sell it for - but some marketing nonsense.

As for the rest of the numbers?

Completely made up by a random on the internet.

Fair play, I'd have to have a close look at the numbers as well. I do understand there is alot of misinformation out there in regards to information especially tending to bias Indian . Also net worth can be alot of factors .
