The highlight will be LDU streaking clear (ignoring a Larkey lead that will be met with positive body language) to seal the deal with 1 minute left in the clock

Yeah man I get it, but should they not show up round one it’ll be really f***ing hard to show up in subsequent rounds.

As a club it time to make a statement that we are putting the shit behind us.

We had a pick 1 turn tail and run away because it was hard. This is the first time the afl have allowed him to face us in front of our fans since.

If they cannot show up for the fans in this game I am not sure they have it in them to ever.

I think they will. Really. I'm pessimist numero uno sometimes around here and I have every confidence in a competitive performance. Not necessarily a win, but a game that is alive well into the last.

I'm more worried that, when the season kicks into gear and the novelty wears off, we'll revert to our usual bilge.

2023: R4-R5: 23 point loss into a 75 point loss. -52. Took another five weeks to get a result better than a 30 point loss. 3 70+ point losses sprinkled into that streak. Season over by R7.

2024: R2-3: 26 point loss into a 56 point loss. -30. It then took until after the bye ie. 10 weeks, to get a result better than a 38 point loss. 2 70+ point losses sprinkled into that streak, with a 68 point loss too. Season over by R6.

2025: R2-R4: 59 point win into a 36 point loss into a 65 point loss. -29 if you want to be reasonable, as we weren't expected to be competitive in Adelaide. Then a 52 point loss and an 82 point loss before we remembered that you're supposed to win football games, not get thrashed in them. Season over by R6.


R1 and R2 are not typically achilles heels for us. It's the rest of it that we struggle with. I'm the same as you, only my disillusionment will be complete if we repeat the above pattern. See if they have the ****ing guts to have kept their season alive by R7, miracle of miracles
