All that said....from what I can tell, he's no plodder. Looks like he has some burst away from stoppage and seemed to a run a decent time trial. What am I missing?

The thing I like is that he doesn't need to bulk up significantly - so can continue to develop his running ability without the complication of also need to add weight.
It was just some of the lingering questions on how much he could improve from his bottom age year and not be one dimensional I guess. I was never in any real doubt he was not just an inside bulldozer .

Hahah this gave me a chuckle...Some of these track watchers and their videos and descriptions are quite funny!
The description of the farrow one is ridiculous. It could’ve just as easily been a 4ths player in a local comp completing the drill and you wouldn’t know the difference

When we went into the draft the main thing was to get Robey but at the moment i am just as excited about Sharp.
Rubey in the long term will most likely be the guy but for now Dyson Sharp will come straight into our best 22 and get some time in the midfield i would hope.
Its too early to tell who will be the best out of Robey, Farrow and Sharp.

Like Cox, Perkins and Reid. They will come on in fits and spurts.

Sharp and Farrow have started well, but we probably expected Sharp to have the most impact early.

If given the chance - Farrow could play a similar role to Heppell in his first year.

Lets hope they are nothing like Cox / Perkins/ Reid :p

He was good. Had a bad turnover early when playing out in space but as soon as he was put in the contest he was good.
The contest is his 1 wood. Centrals had no hesitation putting him in the guts in the league team in '24 and he delivered in the finals, but not from a possession perspective (mid-teens) but tackles, blocking, smothering, harrassing. Compare that against his u18 games where he could get the ball at will, I think we have a bloke that will be able to balance his game according to opposition, matchup, conditions, and match situation.

How did the lad go yesterday? Not much said in match reports/comments. Does that mean underwhelming?
Started off poor with 2 bad kicks then really worked into the game. 2nd half was more on ball and was very decent. His handballing and tackling is great

Yesterday is the first time I’ve watched Sharp play.

Is a fair expectation that he’ll be a workmanlike player? Good at the clearance, will block, tackle, chase.

But he’s never going to be Nathan Buckley on the outside.

Could have a good AFL career. But much more steak than sizzle.

Which is what we need. We got Robey to be the sizzle.

Sharp will be the Dunkley/Atkins/Rowbottom type who you just put his magnet up and know exactly what you will get.

Yeah, and to be clear, it’s not a criticism at all.
