It's a big year for Cripps. Needs to have a good year in order to have clubs willing to take on the rest of his contract. It's his only chance of escape.
1 club player big Crippa. Unlike little Nicky he's got a bit of resilience & fortitude, so I doubt he'll be tempted by the big money offers that will come his way before finishing up his career.

Maybe he'll end up in coaching and he can link up with Nicky when he ships off to Tassie!

LoL.

He will be like Marc Murphy and keep getting his $$ from Carlton whilst ensuring the losing culture is strong at the Shizens.

Will be a good watch as to whether Crippa can end up with more losses than Murphy.

39 losses behind.
5 more years... he could get 2 flags and still overtake Murphy on losses

And will go down as one of the best players of his era regardless. Newcombe on the other hand...

5 more years for Crippa...dreaming.

Will be a proud day when Crippa gets loss #183 and overtake previous Shizen captain courageous Murphy, the Shizen fans might decide to not leave at 3/4 time to give Crippa a deserved send off at the end of the game.

Cripps, like Murphy, will be remembered as a LOSER

Newcombe on the other hand... already a finals' legend 👍

This is Vossy's 10th season as a senior coach. He's been so successful that I think we should celebrate it with a statue and a public holiday.
Naaahhhh...he's already got an oval named after him...unlike McRae.

Did you read the part about 'predicted output for season 2026'?

Jai Newcombe paying $41 for the Brownlow, Cripps $67.

Someone is lobotomised, and it's not me....
Whomever is putting money on Newcombe certainly is. Cripps I would say is a better bet if he is actually in form.

Cripps
Walsh
Weitering
McKay

All better than Newcombe and likely will be in 2026 too barring injury wiping them out.
I would suggest Hewett is better. Cerra is on par....although if he were 100% fit I'd say he is better.
Stats back those two up against Newcombe.
And I would say Jagga will be better...but he hasn't got the runs on the board as yet...but come the end of the '26 season will be interesting to compare.

LOLOLOL.

Will Day also paying $51.

So betting analysts, who are paid to determine the likelihood of every player in the competition to win the Brownlow, seem to agree with me....
These 'analysts' must have gone to the same school you dropped out of. They're clearly no good with having Cripps at 70/1....and he wins!

Love how they show this vision of a fast small forward running away from cripps , late in the last quarter , who has probably covered 10 x more ground during the course of the game.
Exactly what I was thinking...but the brain surgeons in here think it's a 'got ya' moment....hilarious.

Our bottom 10 or so are poo. You get no arguments from us about that.
But if you think Newcombe would be Carltons best player heading into 2026, well then its reason for discussion. For starter's, Cripps would be the number 1 starting midfielder in the side. Agree or not ?
2024 Cripps would be - by a landslide. 2025 Cripps wasn't even Carlton's best mid. Who knows what 2026 will bring.
