Fair enough really.

Do I remember a Pom batter getting his arm broken by Jo Angel at the WACA in years past
I can't remember that happening but I do remember Jo Angel getting his arm broken by Brett Lee at the WACA in 1999. That and 8 wickets propelled Binger into the test side.

Read today where Boland may miss out in Adelaide, preserving him for the MCG and Boxing day.
Hopefully the series is wrapped up in the Adelaide test.

Makes sense with Cummins coming back.

Neser gets Adelaide, Boland gets the MCG, hopefully Richardson gets a test somewhere as well.

So England has learned nothing then?

I know Bazball says to go with aggressive fields, but a deep third man is a must for both Head and Weatherald. And there’s nothing defensive about it. It’s a genuine catching position against them. Instead they can swing at anything wide with no risk.

Honestly the worst standard of cricket I recall watching in an Ashes in a while. Normally it's just England looking out of their depth but Australia is matching them this series (outside an incredible performance or two from Head and Starc). Just absolutely terrible batting saved by horrible English bowling

Stuff the haters we need him to make 200. We need the runs and I don't care how many tests it buys him.
I'm sure he'll retire at the end of the series. But you're right. We need a number 4 knock from him.

Bring in an opening bat and play him at 4. Play a middle order makeshift opener who’s replaced the opener that’s come back in and keep him at the top. Make it make sense.
Khawaja moved from 3 to opening in 2019. Not surprising that they kept Head opening if they think Weatherald and Head are the two openers going forward (as I've repeatedly said, I think Head is better at 5/6).

5 absolute junk wickets, unreal
It seems like a 400+ wicket if we'd batted with any semblance of conviction and intelligence. Could've really drawn it out and batted into tomorrow essentially making the boxing day test a shoe-in.

Hopefully Carey and Inglis can both go on with it, but I won't hold my breath.

Looks like a complete road but for some early turn, yeah, could have bowled them into the ground given how hot it is tomorrow.
