Because they're just a free kick. The alternative would be reviewing everything on VAR incase a goal is scored on the next play and the sport would become like NFL with all the stoppages.

VAR for goals, red cards works just fine as long as it is implemented properly.

I agree, but the duality of VAR being able to chalk off goals because of retrospectively finding a missed foul in the lead up, but not being able to chalk off goals because of an incorrectly called foul in the lead up, is a reasonable one to question.

Wirtz should be told we want him collecting the ball +/- 5 metres from the boundary of our attacking box. He looks a threat there but too often asks for it well outside.

I'd bring Isak on and get Ekitike on the left. We need someone to attack the wings and exploit the space. They're defending narrow with 10 men.
