Living in London I got used to reverse parking into spaces that were 12 inches longer than your car. And none of that French business of smashing into the other car's bumpers. I had to retake my test when I moved to Victoria. Was asked to reverse into a space that was as long as a bus.

Brits can be good at it.
Got to have the right technique.
( My kids and i saw a guy doing this sort of thing at the Melbourne Car Show one year, as well as driving around on 2 wheels and yes he was a Brit too. ).

Every single day on the highway it's as if people HAVE to get past you. Other day I was doing 113 which is about 110. For 5 minutes a car is seemingly happy sitting behind me in what looks like adaptive cruise control. Then no he's not satisfied so proceeds to enter the outer lane in a 15km stretch where he's doing perhaps 0.5km/hr faster than I am. He finally gets half a car length ahead and has a car behind him, then pretty much brake checks me forcing my car to go into evasive procedure. Then for the rest of the trip home. I'm tracked in on his car at 108. So the ****wit overtook me while I was doing 113 according to my car, then once he overtook me, we dropped to 108. The **** is wrong with these ****wits.

Sometimes I'll indicate well in advance to change lanes and some ****wit will press me hard. Other day I got stuck behind a slow moving truck so switched lanes, then some guy was tailgaiting me. I pulled to the inside lane and then he brake checked me.

Today, again I'm doing the speed limit and some guy just had to get past me despite having an 80km/hr zone 1km ahead. Same spot but other way we go from 2 lanes in an 80 zone, to 110 single lane for about 1km then back to 2 lanes or more all the way into the city. So it's barely 1 minute of driving in a single lane and every day the impatience of drivers to try and pass you for that one small section is crazy.

I think it's living proof of everyone stuck in the system and unable to comprehend life outside of that system. I think watching Soylent Green highlited that very well.

I went grab some take away.
And look at this malaka taking up 4/5 parks.

I've been a delivery driver. Same truck and there are many occasions where you don't have much of an alternative. The worst one was a busy car par where people just don't give a crap, you had to reverse back up a steep hill which I nearly burnt the cluctch the first time I went there.

Some locations are just shit for a truck.

At our store we were next door to a 'mums' fitness club (I saw 2 men in my time) and I had to be super vigilant like drive 1km/hr because kids would be walking down the laneway unsupervised.

The worst part of being a delivery driver with a truck is doing regional areas, having new customers and delilveries in unknown areas without enough time to do some reconnaissance or research. Google Maps was horrendous taking me down unsuitable roads or making shitty deviations with very little benefit. Ie: Shorter routes but you need to drive slower to the conditions.

I came to learn some of the known routes but there was always one every couple of weeks that would throw you off.

He was probably having a detailed daydream about saving the world

Yeah my current job requires a few dirt roads to be travelled, can be fun. I’m also conscious of dust so take them at a slower speed as anything over 30 atm creates huge dust clouds it’s so dry.
I live on a dirt road and do 60. Few people are up around the 90 mark and puts up a thick plume of dust. Also got a lot of roos out here

Today was next level.
Super busy going up the GOR.

One 4WD stopped traffic so he could do a U turn across double white lines.

Just past Anglesea 60 k zone car moving aross double white lines almost had a head on in front of me..

BMW decided to stop on the GOR to let cars in even tho there was 100 behide us.
Ok being nice to one car and middle finger to 100 more.

Decided to go a beach on the way back
Wow normally 2 way gravel road today one way to many parked cars.

I get near the end to the car park
Young feller maybe 10 meters away from the car park comes towards me
Im you need to back it up I got nowhere to go
Backs it up cant back it up straight and smashes the back of his car on the side of the hill..it was only 10 meters.
Maybe a few scratches best case .

The one advantage of working in the country is I’m usually going against traffic.

Lots of caravans heading back towards Melbourne today.

You would of being going off chops id you were down the GOR today .
