Loved the bit from that footage where WORNER goes backwards under no pressure directly across goals to behind Alex Pearce so that the skipper can clean up that crap. Guy is a liability.

Wasn’t even the worst blunder in the video. Banfield punching it straight to an open Treacy on the goal-line who kicked the easiest goal of his life was genuine WTF, I guess he’s learnt nothing from when he punched it to Farrar who kicked a crucial goal in the final. Usual suspects I suppose.

Whole video was mostly crappy skills, turnovers, hand-balling at feet and bad decision making. Definitely wouldn’t call it a highlight reel. Thankfully they’ve got 2 months to sort that out.

Clear intent to play-on quickly. Something breaking down in the f50 for both white and purple. You can see players clearly don’t have an option to kick i50 so invite pressure bu holding onto the ball and then handballing backwards and sideways. Bit to work on.

Even so better to go to a contest deep than to turn it over in the middle of the ground with your team mates streaming forward.

I wonder what sort of post training review they do, I imagine it is recorded and that sort of thing shown back to the group and discussed.

The idea is fine. There mightn't have been anything up the line to go to. The issue is that you just absolutely have to make that kick if you're doing it. As others have said, its still early days back from break. The more we do these match sims with the pressure we have our forwards applying, the better they will get at reacting to the pressure.

This might of been posted.. not that I've come across, but oh wells. For those who haven't. Some of the highlights from the recent match sim with clear footage

Two players really stood out in limited vision of them - Josh Draper because he is noticeably bigger, and Dudley because he is leaner.

Could be a big year for Chapman. Injuries aside, I feel like he hasn't reached his potential, and been a bit hit & miss. Last year in particular.

He has good size without being bulky and just needs to assert himself a bit more. Decent skills and speed/good loping gait. If he can get all his ducks in a row, so to speak....needs to assert more authority in that backline. He has the tools, I'd like to see them all come on

Was he the player caught by Pickett exiting deep 50?

Well, after reading comments on that few minutes of early preseason training, I have washed my Dockers gear, placed it all in the box, along with a couple of packs of mothballs and napthalene flake(like many of the posts). Checked out the next eight months of places to go for recreational weekends away.
The season is fcked.

Haha short snippet of Match Sim video footage is damning huh 😅🤣 the training reports were more positive, best you go with those

I'm not sure. I only watched the clip once and it was all a bit 'meh', but as others have said - it's early pre-season, back off a break so maybe (??) just some rustiness. Hopefully Chapman has a big year

I know everyone on here knows it but the only things you can learn from preseason are:
1) Players putting on size (muscle or girth)
2) Whether a new player looks any good
3) Wholesale changes to gameplan (like playing on every chance)
4) Injuries

Rest is meaningless fluff/dooming until round 1. Excited for Kickett going off that video.

This had me thinking...maybe I should go suss out a Vic club training in the next week or two. See how it compares to ours. For fun.

Who would people be most interested in? I am thinking Hawks perhaps? Maybe Carlton?
