On loan at Girona from Atlético. 10 goals in 186 appearances for Atlético on the back of a 2018 €70 million transfer.

Not to be outdone, a year later we would finally get our french fraud in Nicolas Pépé for €80 million.

Such wild times at the club back then. Consecutively breaking our record purchases in a short space of time for Lacazette, then Aubameyang and Pepe. That disjointed time really cost the club not just significant money, but time also. With so much else to do in the squad rebuild in the years after.

Nwaneri I thought had said no to a few loan deals, but that’s interesting. Would prefer to not weaken the squad however I guess assurances have been made that he actually plays there.

Good line up this. MLS and Eze finally start. Great to see Mosquera back and hopefully Havertz can get some minutes.

Miscued shot by Timber but on the balance of play deserved. Nice exchange in the box in the lead up for Jesus.

Their goal was a cracking finish. First away goal we’ve conceded in Europe this season I believe.

So different to a PL game with the stakes so high currently, much more free flowing and end to end. Jesus sure doing his best to claim the CF position as it’s up for grabs at the moment.

We’ve also been opened too many times really. That one pass from Zubi to turn it over was very unusual.

Very enjoyable match to watch overall. A draw or win here would essentially seal a top 2 spot with Kairat at home the final game to come.

What a weapon to have up your sleeve. Gyokeres coming on as a sub against a tiring team and whack one in on the counter attack.

Could be massive for Arsenal the second half of this season.

Not just competing on all fronts but dominating.

Starting to believe.

It’s just not the same City teams of old that have gone on those dominant second half of the season runs. It’s a bad loss for them away this morning and seemingly heavy legs on their squad with little rotation throughout this schedule.

They’ve already lost 5 in the league. The time is now for Arsenal to strike in the league this season. It’s there for the taking.

United this weekend is huge. They’ve got a week to prepare because they’ve got nothing else to play for. So to go to Milan and win whilst managing many key players, that’s brilliant.

Kairat next week should almost see a “second” XI. Even give Kepa that game. United at home, Leeds away next weekend, then Chelsea in the league cup semi, those are the priorities in this next block.

Also a little fact that shouldn’t be slept on. Top 2 of the group are ensured second home legs at home throughout the rest of the competition. May not seem that big of a deal now however in that run in, that advantage can be crucial. Arsenal have earned it.
