Your clubs best ever premiership season?

2011. Cats lost PF to Pies in 2010 and were labelled “too old and too slow”. Their best player and best in the AFL, Gary Ablett Junior, left the Club at the end of 2010 after being lured with $$$$ by the AFL to move to Gold Coast, and Bomber Thompson walked out of the Club.

Yet in 2011 the Cats defeated the Pies 3 times, inflicting the Pies only losses and won its third premiership in 5 years.

You were a brilliant side that season. In my time one of the best I've ever seen. Goes with all of the Cats premierships since 2007.

Not a premiership year, as Richmond handled the moment much better, but I thought the Adelaide Crows played much better and far more consistent footy in 2017 over the 1997 or 1998 years.

So 2017 was a better year, but wasn’t a premiership year.

You were a good side. In fact I'm surprised you guys went missing after 93, 98, and 2017. Played great footy in the successful years. Even in 2023 you guys were unlucky posing to us both games and robbed vs Sydney. Close losses in both seasons to Melbourne and Brisbane etc.

The allegation are, the older players were complaining that Cornes were training then too hard in 1994 and they fired him based on that.

99: Blight didn’t want to be there. He wanted to walk away after the 1998 GF, and play golf, but John Reid and a few others talked him to staying around for the 1999 season. He just phoned it in. Same as his St Kilda season.

2018 was allegedly about the Gold Coast camp and they players were spooked by the Collective Minds stuff. The players only played well when they wanted to. A fractured team, club and environment.

Was 94 the year Smart burnt his feel walking over hot rocks? I forgot what they call that.

Disappointing. I thought Blight was enthused about 99 I remember him saying that 3 would be the ultimate.

And 2018 was poor. Betts got shamed in that didn't he. Very poor.

I remember that 1994 opener vs Carlton at Footy Park. Modra kicks 13, you spank the runners up on a Sunday night feast at Football Park. I thought for all money you'd challenge for the flag that season again.

Nigel Smart and the burnt feet was the 1992 pre season.

Malcom Blight after the 1998 premiership said, “You win two in a row and you are freaks, three and it's a miracle”

The less said about that camp, the better. Lots of players were shamed and disrespected by the club. It was handled extremely poorly by the Adelaide Crows leaders.

Do you think you beat Carlton if you made it in 93? Did you guys also kick poorly in that semi final? I think you did. Also not sure if Craig Bradley kicked 5 that game. If you went on with it vs the Dons no reason as to why you couldn't beat them. They would have been confident though but then again they also beat essendon on week 1 of the finals and had the week off. Then got smashed.

In 1993, the Crows kicked 8.20, but Grand Final days are very funny and strange things can happen.

Win or loss, who knows. It was 32 years ago.

2023 for mine was the modern day 1990 with out the pub crawl from the MCG to Vic park.
2023 is the modern Collingwood we know now and our very success was built out of winning the flag in 2023
The one to look at fondly in hard times.
Hanging my hat on 2023 for a while now

2013 by a fair margin. Two obligatory losses to Geelong and a shock loss to the Tiger late in the H&A season as the only blemishes, before finally getting putting the curse in the hearse in the prelim.
Brilliant. Good come from behind wins over North late on when down about 5 or 6 goals and also Sydney trailing by 4 goals at 3qtr time in Sydney the final home and away game.

Easily the best side in 2013.

I liked 2008/2014

Both years beat sides rated amongst the all time best lists
