The only 2023 premiership players left at Collingwood are Pendlebury and Sidebottom. They’re also the only two who also played in the 2010 premiership.

Apart from Howe, Moore, Josh Daicos, Nick Daicos, Frampton, Maynard, Quaynor, Hill, Elliot, Mreeey, De Goey, Crisp, Cameron, and Lipinski you really nailed this 😭

Just a couple of 'name' facts:

Good ocker names (Christian names only)

Norm - The last Norm (or Norman) to play VFL was Norm Tivendale who played his last game for the Bulldogs in 1978 - nearly 50 years ago. For comparison, there were 2 Norms who made the debuts in Rd 1 1897 - the first ever round of the VFL. No Norms or Norman have played in the AFL.

The last Vern in the VFL was Vern Drake (Fitzroy fans will remember his 2 games in 1966). There were 2 Vernons - played in 1915 and 1920.

The last Roy was Roy Ramsay who played 123 games for North from 1976-1986 (and had a year playing for Essendon in 1982, before returning to the Roos). The first Troy to play VFL/AFL was Troy Moloney who played for Footscray in 1987.
So from 1897-1986, there were 75 Roys to play VFL Football and no Troys. From 1987-2025, there have been 21 Troys and no Roys. (There were 2 Royces - both played for Richmond - one was the VFL Team of the Century CHF, and the other

..................wasn't.

I’ve come across a few young kids with the name Roy. Hipsters bringing it back, the Roys will rise again one day.

Im not as confident about Norm however.

Richmond's 1989 team holds the record both for the highest score ever kicked by a wooden spoon team (26-15-171) in a high-scoring match against North Melbourne (20.14-134) and the lowest score conceded by a bottom team from 1920 onwards of 3.8-26 kicked by the Brisbane Bears in a low-scoring loss to Richmond 5.15-45 in wet conditions at the MCG.

Two years earlier Richmond also won the 1987 wooden spoon and set another record - the biggest win by a bottom team by thrashing St Kilda by 76-points - with the previous record 75-points by St Kilda over Richmond in 1983!
